Date of birth

Actor's date of birth is mentioned in two bios including one on IMDB, also her age is mentioned as 33 in various 2012 news articles [Like this one from NDTV]. It was only after this that the DOB was inserted into the article. Stop deleting the DOB. If you have a different DOB do provide a cite and modify it.--PremKudvaTalk 03:31, 30 March 2012 (UTC)

Can anyone find a source that might be a bit more reliable than what we have, such as a biography, preferably one that gives some details about her earlier life? --Ronz (talk) 17:05, 30 July 2013 (UTC)
Since we don't have any clearly reliable sources, and the celeb rags don't agree, I've removed it. --Ronz (talk) 22:52, 5 August 2013 (UTC)
I agree, with widely conflicting dates best to wait till a good reliable reference is available.--PremKudvaTalk 06:04, 6 August 2013 (UTC)
I've added a year of birth, 1978, to "Early life" rather than have no birth date info at all (by deleting what seems likely to be the correct date because it is unsourced and being changed) by the following reasoning:
  • The most common DoB is October 28, 1978, including at IMDb (considered unreliable but usually correct), but haven't found a reasonably reliable=seeming source.
  • A DoB of October 28, 1986, is found on several sites (including one that is currently cited here for something else), but appears to be wrong, as Hydari responds on video ("age is just a number") to a question about being over 30, making a 1986 birth date impossible.
  • In two sources, the one I cited for 1978 in the article (that was already used elsewhere), and here, it is noted that she started dance training in 1984 at age 6 (and the latter source reports her instructor as "acclaimed dancer Leela Samson," offering further opportunity for verification). So, simple observational arithmetic puts her birth year at 1978, which corresponds with the numerous instances of that date elsewhere.
--Tsavage (talk) 03:55, 6 December 2014 (UTC)
I've no idea what source identifies her taking dance lessons in '84. Looking for it... --Ronz (talk) 17:09, 27 September 2016 (UTC)
It is http://matpal.com/2012/03/aditi-rao-hydari-biography.html , which was removed as spam [1].
I think we keep it out until far better sources are found. --Ronz (talk) 17:50, 27 September 2016 (UTC)
Ronz, Premkudva - not sure if this matter still interests you. But fresh info is provided in the discussions below on this page. Editor 2050 (talk) 16:01, 16 February 2018 (UTC)
Editor 2050 leaving the year out is the best thing we can do. Unless the actor provides us with her 10th standard marks card ie :-) --PremKudvaTalk 04:41, 17 February 2018 (UTC)

Aditi Rao Hydari - Age

Hi, I would like to edit the age of Aditi Rao Hydari on this wiki page as the current age mentioned is incorrect.

Below is a link to back up my proposal. Is this credible enough for this change?

http://www.filmibeat.com/celebs/aditi-rao-hydari/biography.html Dxcu12 (talk) 09:53, 16 September 2016 (UTC)

No, filmibeat isn't considered a reliable source.- Managerarc talk 18:25, 16 September 2016 (UTC)

Please see to the links below. Are they credible enough for this change?

http://www.justbollywood.in/aditi-rao-hydari/ Dxcu12 (talk) 06:32, 27 September 2016 (UTC)

No. At this point we need sources that clearly are fact checking. As mentioned earlier, saying she was 6 in 1984 when she first started dance lessons seems to fit this criteria, but none of those sources seem reliable.
We get this quite often with actors, and the solution is to either find sources that clearly place the person's age in historical context or just leave it out. --Ronz (talk) 17:55, 27 September 2016 (UTC)
Almeda64, Editor 2050 gave a good explanation behind why she could not have been born in 1986 in this edit. Also, I wasn't referring to TOI as a non-RS, just that particular article which looked like a case of WP:MIRROR. ----Kailash29792 (talk) 11:15, 16 February 2018 (UTC)
Kailash29792 I think Editor 2050's deductions are not more reliable than TOI. I've added another reference, please check it. This Indian Express article clearly states that she turns 31 on 28 October 2017 which obviously means she was born in 1986 - Almeda64 (talk) 11:22, 16 February 2018 (UTC)
Editor 2050 Please continue the discussion here and not on my talk page. This issue is concerning Hydari so it should be discussed here. As I said, I've given recent and reliable sources for her birth date so do not remove them until you can find a reliable source which states that her birth date is something else - Almeda64 (talk) 12:12, 16 February 2018 (UTC)

New thread

Hi.

  • February 2004: Aditi Rao Hydari is a married person performing with Leela Samson's dance troupe [2]
  • 2013: Aditi Rao Hydari is revealed to be 34 by the Hindustan Times in an interview. She apparently married Satyadeep at 21. So likely around 2000-2001.[3] Firstpost suggest the same [4] As do Sify [5]
  • She's probably approaching 38/39 now. There does not seem to be any confirmation - so best to leave an age out for the moment. Also I'm sure it may impact Aditi's roles if an older age is put down.

Editor 2050 (talk) 11:52, 16 February 2018 (UTC)

Editor 2050 There is clear confirmation in this 2017 Indian Express article of her birth date. Why are you digging up 10+ year old articles to verify her age? Until you can find a reliable source which states that her birth date is not 28 October 1986 but something else, then please leave don't remove her birth date. I've currently cited 2 reliable sources for her birth date. As per this Deccan Chronicle article of 2016, she married Mishra at 21 so yes, as per her birth date she married him in 2007 - Almeda64 (talk) 12:10, 16 February 2018 (UTC)
The New Indian Express article is not a direct interview, unlike my sources. It's just internet research done by the terrible editors there. Those sources I gave you are all reliable. Aditi actually speaks in all those interviews. This 2004 article clearly has her talking about her marriage pre-2004 [6]. All I'm saying is remove the date. No date is better than an incorrect one. Editor 2050 (talk) 12:27, 16 February 2018 (UTC)
"Why are you digging up 10+ year old articles to verify her age?" - because it's accurate, and actually has her speaking, unlike your silly sources. Editor 2050 (talk) 12:30, 16 February 2018 (UTC)
Kailash29792 - Aiyo, this editor doesn't get the difference between interviews + blog content on RS! Tbh, I don't mind as along as film-makers keep casting Aditi in good roles, believing she is 31! Editor 2050 (talk) 12:40, 16 February 2018 (UTC)
Editor 2050 The New Indian Express article is not a direct interview, unlike my sources. It's just internet research done by the terrible editors there - so you are saying that only direct interviews are regarded as reliable sources for birth dates? Also, you'll decide whether the editors of newspapers like Times of India and Indian Express are reliable sources of info or not? What nonsense. By your logic, every newspaper is unreliable.

Also, read your own info before you call other people silly. It is only Aditi Jaitley Jadeja (wife of Ajay Jadeja) who talks about her marriage in that article not Hydari. You are the only one who is looking silly by digging up a 10+ year old article by Rediff, playing Sherlock and deducing that Hydari is 38/39. Why aren't you giving a reliable source for her birth date then? Until you can give one don't remove her birth date. The sources I've given clearly meet Wikipedia's RS criteria so call them silly all you want. They are recent too unlike yours which are ancient and can have incorrect info. The Indian Express article is wishing her on her birthday and clearly states that she's turned 31 on 28 October 2017. The other source is Times of India. Here's another article by Times Now [7] wishing her on her birthday on 28 October 2017.

"because it's accurate, and actually has her speaking, unlike your silly sources" - Speaking about what? That her birth date is not 28 October 1986? Also, Firstpost does give incorrect info sometimes so don't cite that as a completely reliable source. I'm pretty sure TOI and Indian Express are more reliable and accurate sources than Rediff.

Here are other recent reliable articles which state that she's 31 years-old:

Here are Hydari's official Instagram [11] and Facebook [12] accounts, where her fans and celebrities are wishing her on her birthday on 28 October 2017 and she's thanking them too for the birthday wishes.

You keep denying that all these recent reliable sources are incorrect just because of a 2004 article by Rediff. Seeing that it's so old, that was clearly a mistake on the editor's part. Read up on what constitutes RS on Wiki and then talk. - Almeda64 (talk) 13:48, 16 February 2018 (UTC)

I hope Hydari doesn't bash us like Vidya Balan did. We'll stick with 1986 until she does. --Kailash29792 (talk) 13:52, 16 February 2018 (UTC)
Kailash29792 I'm sure she won't because it's correct and Editor 2050 is being delusional. The user is clearly not aware of what constitutes RS on Wiki and insists on playing Sherlock. The user is also not aware of the difference between a news article and a blog. - Almeda64 (talk) 14:03, 16 February 2018 (UTC)
Reply from Editor 2050

The way you form arguments are atrocious. There is no Rediff 2004 article(?). There is no point of arguing with you. Being called "Sherlock" is a compliment. It's also particularly funny when it's me who has gone through and improved the article, rather than just adding pointless images which will be removed when an eventual GA promotion is considered.

Of course, we all know she is born on 28 October - so the links to FB and Instagram are absolutely pointless. Those recent sources that you provided have obviously seen the incorrect date on Wikipedia and plagiarised.

Just for future users, who are confused by the "1986" date. So am I. According to this so-called fact pattern:

Anyway, let's "stick" with 1986 to keep everyone happy. Aditi will also be happy - and I'm sure it'll bring her more offers too, as she deserves only the best :)

Editor 2050 (talk) 14:45, 16 February 2018 (UTC)

Editor 2050 The premises of your argument itself are atrocious. Stop being delusional and playing detective. A while ago you were not even ready to admit that she was born on 28 October, suddenly you are saying that Of course, we all know she is born on 28 October - so the links to FB and Instagram are absolutely pointless.
  • There is no Rediff 2004 article(?) - what are you talking about? You are the one who is repeatedly citing this article and saying that Hydari is talking about her marriage in it when in fact she is not. It is Ajay Jadeja's wife Aditi Jaitley Jadeja who is talking about her marriage to Jadeja. Clearly, you are confused about who's who since they both share the same first name. You probably didn't read up properly.
    • :The article is sourced as an interview of the Ms Rao and Ms Jaitley from The Hindu, dear. I have clearly quoted the section above. "Quote: "For Aditi Rao, who is married to Satyadeep Mishra, a Delhi-based lawyer, there is some relief on this count. Apart from being supportive he never misses an opportunity to watch Aditi perform."" - I don't think Jaitley was also married to Mishra. Editor 2050 (talk) 15:34, 16 February 2018 (UTC)
  • Those recent sources that you provided have obviously seen the incorrect date on Wikipedia and plagiarised - This statement of yours is laughable and I'm actually laughing. So it is you who will decide whether the editors of renowned newspapers like Mumbai Mirror, Times of India and The Express Tribune are reliable sources of info? Also, you're saying they publish plagiarised info? What nonsense. I'm done arguing with you. It's absolutely pointless. Please, stop wasting my time and read up on what constitutes RS on Wiki instead of digging up ancient articles and presenting baseless arguments on Hydari's "supposed" age. Give a reliable source for her "actual" birth date or else stop arguing. You are wasting everyone's time. Also, I've improved this article and contributed to it way more than you have. Check the edit history you'll know. Kailash29792 has already ended this argument, you're clearly not understanding that. Your argument has been proven wrong and you're just not ready to accept to it and are harping on and on. Stop it, it won't change anything. - Almeda64 (talk) 15:22, 16 February 2018 (UTC)

I think it best to leave out the year of birth per my previous comments. Otherwise start an RfC or something similar to get clear consensus for inclusion as required by WP:BLP. Please WP:FOC in the process. --Ronz (talk) 17:18, 16 February 2018 (UTC)

Leaving the year out I feel is the best thing we can do. Unless the actor gives us her 10 standard marks card with the dob on it :-) --PremKudvaTalk 04:45, 17 February 2018 (UTC)
