Was AB Facey wounded? His service records say no.
[edit]There is a discrepancy between A B Facey's account of being wounded at Galipolo and his service records which clearly show that hew was discharged for heart trouble. I am unsure of how to deal with this on the main page, so I will entrust to someone else.60.242.96.252 (talk) 14:05, 13 April 2013 (UTC)

[edit]I put this up as a stub as I'm writing an article on Wickepin, however I don't know much about Australian literature. I'd appreciate if someone could make a better go of this than me. Cheers Orderinchaos78 (t|c) 10:02, 29 October 2006 (UTC)

War diary of 11th battalion
[edit]According to the article the war diary says that it was quiet on 19th August, the day of his injury. But the article also says that the men of the battalion were redistributed between two other battalions on the 18th. So A wouldn’t it be more pertinent to check the war diary of whichever one he became - for one day - part of, and B why would there be a war diary of a non-existent battalion on that day? Apologies if as a non-military man I have the wrong idea, but it looks to be illogical as it is. Boscaswell talk 06:53, 6 May 2020 (UTC)
- @Boscaswell: Updated citation to include URL to the diaries online at AWM. No diaries received for 10th Infantry Battalion from August 1915 until March 1916. Diaries from 9th Infantry Battalion records “new allotment” on 18th, and a soldier returning to duty and increasing sickness on 19th. Facey being injured by exploding shell severely enough to be sent home ought to have eclipsed matters recorded around 19th, so unlikely to have happened in 9th Infantry Battalion, and therefore likely in 10th. Perhaps diaries for 10th are missing for this time because they were too busy to keep accurate and complete records, I don’t know. Betterkeks (talk) 02:09, 8 May 2020 (UTC)
