Proposed deletion objection

[edit]

It has been proposed by user:Tagishsimon that this article to be deleted stating reasons : Not clear why the family is notable thereby pointing to the similar articles Gandhi family, Nehru–Gandhi family and various others mentioned in the Category:Hindu families as well as others in Category:Indian families etc. This article follows a same pattern and has notability as same like others in the above mentioned categories. The reliable sources are mentioned in the article and the article is still a stub therefore others too can contribute to it or in future to make it a full article. Thereby humbly requesting the patrolling admin to take note of it. If there is any issues of family tree on Wikipedia I think we must go for community consensus as per Wikipedia's policies to delete all articles in the above mentioned categories. Thank you. --✝iѵɛɳ२२४०†ลℓк †๏ мэ 07:13, 22 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Removal of PROD tag

[edit]

@Ingratis: I don't see any of consensus reaching to the conclusion that this page should not have the PROD tag at the moment. QueerEcofeminist "cite! even if you fight"!!! 11:37, 27 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@QueerEcofeminist: Consensus is not the issue. The PROD tag can only be applied once: - see WP:PROD (para 2). If it's removed, by anyone for whatever reason, the proposed deletion can't be considered uncontroversial (which is what the PROD procedure is for) and needs to be taken to AFD. Ingratis (talk) 18:52, 27 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
thanks,
  • I will remember this for future, I didn't know this before. till now I have used only CSD for copyvios so PROD was new thing,
  • Additionally, I am confused with how to go about this article, as sources to improve this article are very poor and I do think this article should be kept.
  • I think improving the individual pages of family members should be first step towards bringing some notability to this page? QueerEcofeminist "cite! even if you fight"!!! 20:25, 27 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@QueerEcofeminist: I understand the difficulty. I think you're absolutely right that the best way forward is to expand as far as possible on those of the individual family members who are notable. Looking at other "family" articles - e.g., Darwin–Wedgwood family, which is unusually high in notables - they seem to be quite selective in who they include, so it may also be sensible to prune the less notable names out of this one. Good luck with it! Ingratis (talk) 18:53, 28 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Stop removing good version

[edit]

Good version/text is being removed by constantly editing on this page incorrectly (e.g. [1]). References, tables, photos, information, structures, categories, etc. are being removed from the article. So the quality of the article becomes low. Admins, please make sure the text on this page will not removed again. This is my request.2409:4042:90E:1287:0:0:1C9E:B8AC (talk) 19:13, 20 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Massive table, non-notable individuals, no sources

[edit]

Why does such a gigantic family tree need inclusion, particularly lacking any sources whatever? 90% of these people aren't notable (at least, on the evidence, in English Wikipedia) and are nothing but bland statements of names (none of which can be verified without tedious independent research, if anyone were so inclined), so again, why? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.109.205.71 (talk) 02:20, 16 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
