Interesting short life, on fine sources, no copyvio obvious. In the hook, I think we don't have to say "late" when continuing with "last" or perhaps "final". How about ending after the title, not giving away too much? In the article, please combine the two identical refs. I don't think her parents are lead material, better summarize her art there. Consider having a sentence introducing her exhibitions, followed by the ref, and even if you won't do that, don't say "Sources(s)" if only one. Almost there. I have a recent death among the noms, in case you want to review that for a qpq ;) --Gerda Arendt (talk) 17:25, 19 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Gerda Arendt, Thanks so much for the review. Pardon the delay. For some reason, I didnt see this one on the watchlist. I combined the refs as requested. Wanted to retain the 'late' because of the reference to cancer, which the artist unfortunately succumbed to earlier this week. Hope that is alright. The parenthetical source(s) will ensure coverage for singularity as well. But, I just changed it, nevertheless. Happy to do a review of any of your submissions. Please let me know. As always, thanks for all that you do. Hope all's well. Ktin (talk) 04:46, 22 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Gerda Arendt, also, the article now has an image. If it is alright, I am thinking we add the image to the nomination as well. It is a powerful symbol of a valiant battle against cancer. Ktin (talk) 05:43, 22 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Ktin, thank you for the changes, and especially for the image. I changed the image caption to less repetitious. You did not yet change the lead. Better mention her last exhibition there, instead of her parents, who will be no names general readers will know, and will be mentioned first thing next anyway. Better: mention in the lead a summary of what she meant to the (art) world.
Next: I linked to the very nomination I'd like you to review, no?
Finally: I think this ambiguous "late" - which doesn't necessarily mean that she died - as the entry to a hook is not a good idea. Ideas:
a: ... that Indian artist Anjum Singh's final exhibition, titled I am still here, was an autobiographical depiction of her struggles with cancer?
- but I would not know where to put (pictured)
b: ... that Anjum Singh (pictured) titled her final exhibition, an autobiographical depiction of her struggles with cancer, I am still here?
c: ... that Anjum Singh (pictured) titled her final exhibition, knowing that she would die of cancer, I am still here?
- on the day we remember the dead. I am healthy but missing people, see my talk. Perhaps listen to "Wie der Hirsch schreit" (linked there). I'm not part of it, but friends are singing. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 08:37, 22 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Gerda Arendt, Have added a brief bit about her depictions of her own struggles with cancer in the lede. Have retained the parents because they are noted modern painters and that forms a continuity for the narrative. Thanks so much for reminding me that the nomination was linked. For some reason, I missed it. Regarding ALThooks, I would go with the first one i.e. the one marked a) ... that Indian artist Anjum Singhs final exhibition, titled I am still here, was an autobiographical depiction of her struggles with cancer? (artist pictured). If that is alright, lets go with that one.
ALT1: ... that Indian artist Anjum Singh's final exhibition, titled I am still here, was an autobiographical depiction of her struggles with cancer? (artist pictured)
Ktin (talk) 18:21, 22 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Almost, but not quite, because it has to end on the question mark, and the (pictured) (always this form) should come right after what is pictured. Would this work:
ALT1a: ... that the final exhibition of Indian artist Anjum Singh (pictured), titled I am still here, was an autobiographical depiction of her struggles with cancer? - Thank you for the review! --Gerda Arendt (talk) 18:35, 22 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Gerda Arendt, looks good. Thanks Gerda. Let's go with ALT1a. Ktin (talk) 18:44, 22 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
The image is licensed, and I hope it will be taken. You don't need refs in the lead for things referenced in the body, DYK? I am not yet happy with the referencing for the exhibitions. If all one sources, have it once, and preferred with a sentence, not just a word. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 19:21, 22 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • I have access to OTRS and have seen the ticket as I said above. I cannot disclose any further but all I can say is that the OTRS agent handling the ticket has not released it yet. All that means is that in the present state the image is copyrighted. - FitIndia Talk Admin on Commons 06:23, 29 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
