Article Improvements
[edit]Came across this article yesterday and noticed quite a few issues. The style of writing is, putting it nicely, non-encyclopedic; it reads more like an essay or personal reflection and there are numerous mistakes in grammar and sentence construction, beginning with the comically redundant opening sentence which defines the subject: "Anonymous blogging is an electronic form of anonymous blogging"??? There are also numerous contentious statements, for example "Anonymous bloggers begin by setting up fake email addresses for their blog and registering it with a made-up name" (really...according to who exactly???) and "Unlike fake blogs, anonymous blogs are written by real people on a stated stand point basis, and hence most are seen as a credible source, even though they may be biased", and nonsensical statements, such as "as the concept of blogging grew with time so did the reasons and disciplines of blogging". In addition, at least some of the sources used appear to be questionable (eg, Urban Dictionary, Problogger.net, Dooce.com). The section entitled "Techniques to stay anonymous" is written like a how-to guide (c.f. WP:NOTHOWTO). IMO, there isn't a section in this article that isn't in need of an overhaul. - I agree. I rewrote one section and marked the page as in need of copy editing. I think I will work on this page over the next few weeks; I am becoming more familiar with the topic of anonymous blogs as I learn about Tor, and it would be good for people to have accurate information on this subject. If anyone has suggestions for this page, I would like to hear them. I am wondering how technical the article should be. For example, should there be a section on anonymizing techniques to precede the deanonymizing techniques? Moreover, where should the article start? The Background section needed rewritten entirely, so I have replaced it with the Deanonymization section for the time being, but the section ordering isn't great as it is. I don't think a background section is necessary; if users want more information about blogging, they can click the link at the top of the page, in the introduction. [edit]I've included a link to anonymous sources and higlighted the difference between anonymous sources (controversial but a mainstay of journalism) and anonymous journalism (frowned upon, according to the article referenced). Hope this is ok - please do correct if I've missed something. Rubineous (talk) 00:10, 27 October 2014 (UTC)
I am a no-one, and that's ok....neither are you
[edit]have you heard this.... "we understand the burden, that you all have" "that is where we are, as a country" "the toughest, and fairest, on immigration, in many years" 49.181.237.98 (talk) 18:51, 25 March 2024 (UTC)
