Accuracy updates in the article
[edit]As the COI editor for New York Law School, I am working to improve the page on Dean Crowell as well. I'd like to request the following changes be made to update the page, eliminate extraneous information, and clarify specific details:
- Modify the 2nd paragraph of the Academic career section to eliminate the editorial information. Suggested language:
- In 2012, after being appointed Dean, Crowell introduced the Jump Start bar prep program to help students pass the accreditation exam.[1]
- From 2012-2013, New York Law School saw the highest jump in bar passage rate in New York State.[2]
- Add to the New York City Government section the following:
- In 2022, Crowell was appointed by Mayor Eric Adams to the City Planning Commission.[3]
- Add to the Professional Affiliations section:
- Crowell is Chair of New York State's Independent Review Committee.[4]

- I've inserted those last two points. For the first one, are you requesting that "New York Law School had the worst pass rate for first-time candidates who took the July bar exam, among 15 law schools in New York state. Crowell was "very disappointed" with these results, leading him to implement a "Jump Start" bar prep program that compensated students $500 for studying for the bar. The Jump Start program was successful in increasing the school's bar passage rate" be removed from the article? EchetusXe 19:37, 22 November 2023 (UTC)
- Thank you EchetusXe for taking the time to review and implement this request. In response to your question, I am asking to modify the current language about the Jump Start program in the article so it adheres to WP:NEUTRAL and aligns with the sources. Essentially I am asking for the deletion of the sentences you quoted and insertion of the following language instead:
- In 2012, after being appointed Dean, Crowell introduced the Jump Start bar prep program to help students pass the accreditation exam.[1] From 2012-2013, New York Law School saw the highest jump in bar passage rate in New York State.[2]

- Okay I'll make that change as well. EchetusXe 16:37, 27 November 2023 (UTC)
Thank you EchetusXe for all your help with my previous request. To further enhance and expand the article, I'd like to add the following information:
- Crowell authored a chapter on civics education in Beyond Imagination? The January 6 Insurrection about the January 6 United States Capitol attack.[3]
- Crowell introduced the "Campus Climate Survey" at NYLS to gauge and monitor the school's diversity, equity, and inclusion(DEI) plans and policies.[4]
- The Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce awarded Crowell the "Building Brooklyn Award" in 2013.[5] In 1987, Crowell received a bronze Congressional Award and he serves on the Award Foundation's Board in Washington.[6][7]
- That seems fine, I've added those in.--EchetusXe 23:44, 11 December 2023 (UTC)
