Historic Coalmine and Railway

An historic coal mine at Apsley, was serviced by a railway spur of about 23 km, built from the mainline in Brighton. The spur passed through Pontville, Mangalore, Bagdad, Kempton, and Melton Mowbray, to Apsley. Some parts of the railway formation are still visible.
