hockey team

[edit]

I moved the "Army Ants" page to a more specific title indicating the article's topic (a toy line from Hasbro in the 1980s). However, in the process, I orphaned some vanity text someone added about their hockey club.

It appears below... however note that:

  • the reason "Army Ants (toy line)" was moved was to comply with the guideline listed at Wikipedia:Disambiguation under "Deciding to disambiguate"
  • the text regarding the hockey team should not be in the same article as Army Ants or Army Ants (toy line) for the simple reason it has nothing to do with either of those topics
  • the text regarding the hockey team is full of opinions, which do not belong in Wikipedia
  • the text regarding the hockey team is full unsourced statements which would need to be verified
  • ...and, in this editor's opinion, was likely added by a member of the hockey club

Army Ants is also the name of a inline hockey club that resides in Laurel, Md. They play weekly games at the Gardens Ice House the premier hockey site in Maryland. Members of the squad can be seen practicing at the New Carrollton Rink in Maryland 15 miles outside of Washington D.C. Members of the team are considered by some to be the elite of the Gardens Ice House and are favored by many to reach the playoffs in a high seeded position. The season has just began and it is rumored the team had a favorable outting last week in the team's first scrimmage. Certain members of the team have been called " The Immortals" due to their intense, agressive and at times lavish style of play. Their next upcoming games according to the Icehouse are Tuesday and Thursday of the week of the 17th of April. Check out the New Carrollton Times and N.C. Journal weekly to find stats and info regarding the Army Ants and there sucesses this season. ---Brought to you by the New Carrollton Times Inc. Edition #68; April 2007:week 2 copy.
