The implication of the edit is that Singh's loyalties may not lie with India, which could explain why he dropped the catch. That the edit appears to have been made by someone from Pakistan, which India asserts is constantly attempting to destabilize it and/or promote sectarian violence, made the edit more controversial.

A few days ago, the Indian professional cricketer Arshdeep Singh also faced an identity crisis in the web search after some miscreants edited his profile and linked him with the Khalistani organization.
Rashmi Rekha Das (5 November 2022). "Major goof-ups in superstar Siddhant Mahapatra's Wikipedia page". Odisha TV. Screenshots of the Wikipedia page were shared by trolls on Twitter which showed Arshdeep's name was edited to Major Arshdeep Singh Langra. It was changed again a minute later to "Major Arshdeep Singh Bajwa". The words India and Indian were replaced with Khalistan and Khalistani. The page did not display the misleading information for long as Wikipedia editors reversed the changes within 15 minutes.
Aroon Deep (12 July 2024). "Wikipedia parent responds to ANI defamation suit, says content by volunteer editors". The Hindu. Having content run by volunteers opens the encyclopaedia up to such legal claims, while also risking vandalism: in 2022, for instance, then Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology Rajeev Chandrasekhar called out the platform for derogatory remarks added to the cricketer Arshdeep Singh's page.

"According to the edit history of Mr Singh's Wikipedia page, an unregistered user replaced the words "India" with "Khalistan" at several locations on the profile, but these changes were undone within 15 minutes by Wikipedia editors." Arshdeep dropped the catch of Asif Ali in the 18th over of the Asia Cup (Super 4) match against Pakistan under the bowling of Ravi Bishnoi. This was eventually become the primary reason for India's loss. AmanContributer29 (talk) 12:01, 5 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: as you have not requested a specific change in the form "Please replace XXX with YYY" or "Please add ZZZ between PPP and QQQ".
More importantly, you have not cited reliable sources to back up your request, without which no information should be added to, or changed in, any article. Any such references would need to specifically include statements to justify your claim about it being "the primary reason for India's loss", not just that he dropped a catch - Arjayay (talk) 13:04, 5 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Arjayay He seems to be another vandal account which was created only hours ago to engage in psy ops cyber war. Similar thing was tried last year with another Indian cricketer. I request seniors to not allow any editing of this article except by legit, registered users only with few thousand edits if that is possible.
