This page needs expansion. How old is she for a start?—Preceding unsigned comment added by 213.79.39.127 (talk) 10:42, 6 June 2006

I added her birth date. You or anyone else are welcome to take this further. Gidonb 17:34, 6 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Gomrot Holchot

[edit]

The translation "Cum, Leave" is the offering of an editor whose Hebrew is probably excellent, but clearly is unable to assess their own command of English, recklessly exaggerating their self-assessment, or both. I think that bad faith is unlikely, but in light of their stubbornness and the suitability of that translation as typically sophomoric vandalism, strict enforcement of our standards of verification is called for.
The assertion of that title is not only disruptive editing by virtue of the editor's uncollegial behavior, but also presumptive vandalism that is unprotected by 3RR. The editor has been warned, and will be blocked if they replace that translation without first providing adequate evidence

  1. of the accuracy of the claimed word-by-word translations, and
  2. that the crudity of "Cum, Leave" in English matches similar crudity in the original Hebrew.

  • Again, arguing about something you don't even know. And what "warning"? Are you even in a position of giving "warnings"? UNW1 (talk) 05:02, 15 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
    • UNW makes reference to our by now extensive communication on User talk:UNW1.
FYI, they are now on, IIRC, their third block, this one for 36 hours. If the pattern of that communication continues, they will be blocked indefinitely within a few weeks.

  • I will extract here what i can from the relevant statements by UNW. They suggest to me that either or both of a reliable informant on Israeli colloquial Hebrew, and/or translation (via the WP "embassy" for Hebrew) of relevant Hebrew sources will be needed, if the reference to the show and its name is re-added. I'm not sure I support the removal (I don't think the editor stated the reasons, so I assume non-notability) of all mention of it and several other shows, which renders this talk section moot for now. Even tho the idea of translating titles that rely on nuance is fundamentally flawed, i think discussion of the logic of the Hebrew title is of value if the show's mention grows sufficiently to not be overpowered by it.

The New Actors Workshop

[edit]

The New Actors Workshop does not list her on their 1990-2008 "Alumni" page, and the claim is clearly not for post-2008 so i have removed

at The New Actors Workshop

& added a fact tag.

critical acclaim

[edit]

While she is a talented actress i wouldn't say she is the most "critically acclaimed actresses in Israel" any source to support this claim? --Histolo2 (talk) 14:07, 28 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Zurer or Zorer?

[edit]

As far as I recall, her last name is pronounced with a distinct "o" sound, and since Hebrew spelling omits vowels, the letter "vav" can be interpreted as both. Any thoughts on moving the article? Hearfourmewesique (talk) 15:49, 26 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Every single outside source I can find, plus every other language Wikipedia has her listed as Zurer, so I'm changing it. --Steven J. Anderson (talk) 02:56, 26 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Believe it or not, someone had taken the liberty of spelling her name Zorer in the links of the references even though it's spelled Zurer in every ref. This broke a lot of the links. I fixed those, too. Please don't change to Zorer again unless you can find even a single English language source that spells it that way (which you can't). --Steven J.
