Change the sentence where it says “especially Bengali Hindus”, it’s not factual. Bengali Hindus were one of the least targeted people. It was the actual Bangladeshi people who were targeted, the Bangladeshis who reside in Bangladesh now and are Muslim. Please do not take away the sacrifice of the Bangladeshi people by stating that. 24.51.233.131 (talk) 13:00, 9 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

not true a lot of Hindus were killed. They were taping Hindu woman, checking Hindu man dicks to kill them. Etc.
and Muslims were safe already.

No they weren't. Muslims, Hindus and others were targeted. Akibul Abid (talk) 22:18, 14 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Genocide victims

[edit]

Why did a writer delete the word 'especially' and add the word 'including' in the 1st sentence? The word 'especially' sounds better there. Weren’t hindus especially targeted? Use the word 'especially' there. Science, History & Politics (talk) 06:51, 14 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Reasoning

Although there is not expert consensus in the imperial countries about whether the 1943 famine constitutes genocide, individuals searching for Bengali genocide might nonetheless be looking for the 1943 event, as several reputable/scholarly sources have accused Churchill and the perpetrators of the famine of genocide, or at least likened the consequences of British policy to genocide. Search queries for "Bengali genocide" mostly refer to the 1971 genocide that is the subject of this article. The precedent for this change has also clearly been set by pointers to the Holodomor in Ukrainian genocide.
