Byari attire

[edit]

I don't think white shirt and mundu marks them apart from rest of the South Indians(though the turban does). If I am correct then in the region of Kasaragod, Muslims(I guess both Mapillas and Byaris) used to wear a kind of long Arabic kind of dress known as Kaitar. I guess that was unique attire of Byaris but I am not sure if it were Byaris or Mapillas.

Noori source

[edit]

Using Noori's stufff from 1960 etc is very dodgy. He was a journalist, not a trained historian, and he was a Beary himself, which rings all sorts of alarm bells. I am tempted to remove all info attributed to him per WP:RS. - Sitush (talk) 12:52, 25 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I note that Noori relies on discredited Raj era sources such as Elliot & Rawlinson. Almost certainly, he is wrong in modern eyes. - Sitush (talk) 13:44, 25 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
