Aren't fictional wearers the crew of the Enterprise NCC 1701 in Star Trek classic (TOS)? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.123.90.94 (talk) 05:20, 15 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

More Likely Epstein

[edit]

From what I have gathered over the years, reading innumerable interviews, books and articles and from televised interviews with the various Beatles, it just seems more likely that the very dapper and style-conscious Brian Epstein would have outfitted his "boys" with footwear like that. Also he is likely to be the only one in their organization that could finance four pairs of custom-made boots. In 1961 I can't imagine any of the four Beatles having that kind of money, or being willing to part with on a style so effeminate compared to their rowdy, leather rocker image they gravitated to on their own. In any case, it wasn't until some time after the group accepted Epstein's management offer in 1962 that he was able to impose on them any semblance of a dress code. 1961 seems a very unlikely date both for matters of taste in clothes and finances. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.89.159.105 (talk) 00:33, 19 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
