Is the 'Algebraic description' correct?

If you encode plaintext A with keyword letter A, according to the table you'd get Z, but if you calculate 0 - 0 you get 0 which is A. Does there need to be a '+1' somewhere? In the example given, plaintext D with keyword letter M encodes to K, but this would be calculated as 12 - 3 = 10 which is incorrect. 2A00:23C4:BE98:E400:9150:51D3:104:E0E1 (talk) 08:07, 28 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
