Please explain
[edit]Kiwiz1338, I did not understand your edit summary: let's not reinvent the wheel
. What exactly did you mean by that? Did you remove the content because it was unreferenced? I've added the pronouns used, including a reference for it, to the Wikidata item. Any objection to reinstating the content and adding that reference? Schwede66 02:03, 9 July 2024 (UTC)
- @Schwede66 Sure, add it. But the article should refer to him as he, for consistency. I don't see the point in they when he can be used. Kiwiz1338 (talk) 04:58, 9 July 2024 (UTC)
- Thanks! Schwede66 05:01, 9 July 2024 (UTC)
- Generally when multiple pronouns are given, it is the first one listed that is preferred. All the media articles have taken this on board, as well as official Green Party statements. The pronouns should be changed back to they/them. It comes across as transphobic to default to a binary pronoun just because you think it's easier. 203.211.77.22 (talk) 05:58, 23 October 2024 (UTC)
- If reliable sources mostly use they/them, so should Wikipedia. Schwede66 18:02, 23 October 2024 (UTC)
- This article from October 25, 2024 states that they are non-binary and refer to Benjamin with exclusively they/them pronouns - https://www.teaonews.co.nz/2024/10/25/exclusive-meet-benjamin-doyle-the-green-partys-newest-mp/?fbclid=PAZXh0bgNhZW0CMTEAAaZohUO8bDVPqYPwSbFk-T-u-QHoGeaP-iu6ID5WitdQwU6X1RS7L6r6qRE_aem_JUvFK-VogMOOXhf39o7Adw 2404:4402:3A54:7400:8B8:EB1:23B3:8ABE (talk) 01:35, 26 October 2024 (UTC)

Correct age and DOB to 32 and 1992. This source states Benjamin’s age in 2023 as 32 - https://policy.nz/2023/hamilton-west-electorate/candidates/benjamin-doyle.
Benjamin does not use the name Cody as per their publications seen here, where they use the name Benjamin Kauri Doyle, as at 2024 - https://www.researchgate.net/profile/Benjamin-Doyle 2404:4402:3A54:7400:206F:F08B:9C09:5E55 (talk) 09:09, 25 October 2024 (UTC)
- Correction: the article stated their age as 31 in 2023. So Benjamin’s current age is 32 - https://policy.nz/2023/hamilton-west-electorate/candidates/benjamin-doyle 2404:4402:3A54:7400:206F:F08B:9C09:5E55 (talk) 09:11, 25 October 2024 (UTC)

- Age: The Policy.nz page was published sometime before the 2023 general election. It is likely that Doyle was 31 when the page was published and turned 32 later in 2023, turning 33 before the source was published in October 2024.
- Name The middle name of Cody is sourced from the Gazette notice, which uses people's legal names. Adabow (talk) 22:40, 25 October 2024 (UTC)

Age
[edit]Correct age: This article states that Benjamin is 32 years old, as of October 23, 2024. The author had corrected the age they previously stated which this Wikipedia page has based their dob on.
