Mortal Kombat Deception[edit]

Can someone make mention of the fact that he will appear in the PSP port of Mortal Kombat Deception? Check IGN.com for more info.

Blaze (MK:DA) = Copy of Cinder from Killer Instinct?[edit]

Am I the only one here who thinks that this Blaze character is just like Cinder from Killer Instinct? The only differences are that Blaze has a mouth and wears underwear and gauntlets. Don't get me wrong, I love Mortal Kombat but I just had to bring this up. They look really similar. Another note to make is that one of the administrators at the Midway Forums calls himself Cinder (see the character Khameleon's page, read the "Possible Future" section). Does anyone know if this is more than a coincidence?

Well, someone's screenname is pretty unremarkable; plenty of people are probably called "cinder".
Anyway, as for a Cinder/Blaze connection, I don't know, as I never got into KI. Can't mention it in the article without a source, though, otherwise it is OR. EVula 19:00, 19 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
A humanoid made of fire is hardly original, the article mentions similarities to the Human Torch (making the, I might add, untrademarkable generic word 'Torch' unusable simply because of how bad it would look)

Burning Guy = Blaze?[edit]

Are you guys sure that the burning guy from PIT II stage of Mortal Kombat 2 and Trilogy is Blaze?

-Yep. MK: Deadly Alliance makes mention of it in Blaze's bio that he was captured by 'holy men'. Add to the fact that no other MK character in the franchise's existence has been explicity burning from head to toe, it's really just a case of putting 2 and 2 together. Minty Fresh Death 17:20, 19 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

-I think it is. But creators said that burning guy from Pit II is definetly BLAZE.

-The article says the blaze sprite in MK2 is a palette-swapped Jax... looks more like another palette swapped Liu Kang to me; what do you guys think? --D-Gen 14:32, 20 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It is another Lui Kang sprite. I can tell. Plus, the person across from him is One of Onaga's Holy Men, as described in the same paragraph that explains that the man on fire is inface Blaze. There is no Hornbuckle. ---SilentRAGE! 12:22, 8 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

BLAZE = BOSS?[edit]

Why he is the boss of MKA? he was just a secret and weak character on MKDA. And also he is in Outworld and confused character [he looks like MKDA] on conquest mode of MK deception. So now he is a big boss? Even powerful than mighty Shao Kahn, Onaga or Fallen elder God Shinnok? Also MKDA: he was a guardian and look like stupid secret character, just like others. Also what a hell is that mean ONE BEING?

MK FAN

Because Ed Boon wanted it:) In my opinion, Onaga's awakening may powered-up him, and now he may want to take Earthrealm for himself. You know, Onaga's awakening has a connection with Blaze, because Blaze was guarding his egg. But I don't really know why he is the boss.--Master Spider 13:38, 9 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Well the two brothers in conquest mode are suppose to kill him, so he has to be somewhat stronger. Maybe the protector god of edenian and his wife gave him magical roids. I realy have no idea why everyone else is fighting him, though.

As for the One Being, I woundn't be surprized if he or whatever it'll be will be the main villain for the next generation system of MK games. It's mentioning through the last few games seem to be the possible answer to it coming for a possible future installment of the series.

Blaze in MKII's Pit II background[edit]

This is a total no brainer:

  • There is no other character around that walks around on fire.
  • Blaze's bio in Deadly Alliance states that he was "ambushed on a bridge by an ancient sect of holy men." A more than obvious reference to the burning guy on the bridge in the Pit II in MKII.
  • Blaze's bio also mentions that he had embarked on a "quest". In Mortal Kombat: Deception's Konquest mode, you find a guy walking around on fire in Outworld standing on a bridge in an area greatly resembling the Pit II mentioning a quest. I believe he also mentions an ambush of some sort and possibly even incantations that have been placed upon him.

Midway is beating us over the head with the total obvious. There's clearly no question as to whether the burning guy you see in MKII is or is not the same burning guy as you see in Deadly Alliance and Armageddon. MarphyBlack 23:13, 9 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed. And basically by the same logic, can we not assume that this "Hornbuckle" is one of the Dragon King's holy men, as described in the same bio? Discuss what I just said here please: Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Mortal Kombat#"Hornbuckle"? ---SilentRAGE! 04:13, 10 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I just found proof! On the second disc of Mortal Kombat Armageddon Premium Edition, go to Blaze's kard video, and they say straight-out that the person in the background of The Pit II is Blaze. ---SilentRAGE! 11:54, 14 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Excellent find! Does it say anything about who the other person is? EVula 17:13, 14 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
What characters are there kards for in the Premium Edition? I only have the regular version, and it seems that these kards may be are only possible source of information for the Armageddon storyline in the complete absense of character bios. MarphyBlack 17:26, 14 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks! No, unfortionatly it doesn't say anything about the other guy. I still believe that he is a holy man surving Onaga, becase the scene described in Blaze's MKDA bio describes his encounter on a bridge, and that scene in thge Pit II is on a bridge. Anyway... the characters that have kards, are everyone except Meat, Daegon, Noob Saibot (o0) & and all of the people who had cards in MKD. Although those kards are included. Unfortionatly, they don't say anything new, that we don't already know. :( ---SilentRAGE! 21:10, 15 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Switching Images[edit]

I request that Blaze's profile image be replaced with the MK:D style. The Armegeddon form is his all-powerful boss form and will most likely not be his form in new games.

Otherwise, Note that it is his form in Armegeddon. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 194.125.72.159 (talkcontribs)

Sorry, but speculating that this might not be his form in the future isn't a good reason to change the infobox image. I have, however, changed the caption of the infobox image (visible when you run your cursor over it) to clarify what game the picture is from. EVula 21:47, 13 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

has any sorce sead why he went from intelgent humon form to mindless beast form in mka ?sailor cuteness-ready for love 15:55, 1 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

His ending seems to suggest that it's just his "time to kick everyone's ass" mode, though we'll have to wait for his biography to come out before we can definitively say one way or another. EVula // talk // // 15:57, 1 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Origin?[edit]

Shouldn't Blaze's realm of origin be Edenia, since he was created by the Edenian sorceress Delia for the purpose of beginning Armageddon in that realm? 129.59.43.126 01:28, 24 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Blaze's origin is stated in his bio card. MarphyBlack 12:11, 24 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Origin of the Red Dragon[edit]

I think there is something wrong in the Blaze/Red Dragon storyline: In MK:DA is stated that the the Red Dragon clan was created centuries ago, but in MK Armageddon is said that it was created by Daegon after his awekening. In Unchained is said that after being freed, Blaze found that Daegon was awake. The only thing that doesn't fit is that Blaze was captured during the events of MKII, so Daegon would be already awake and at the head of the Red Dragon.

Perhaps it means the whole "Blaze and Hornbuckle" scene depicted at Pit II was actually just symbolic of what had already happened, as well as a telltale sign of how it happened. In which case it all tells us that one of Onaga's acolytes distracted Blaze head-on and apparently the others all jumped him from behind. 74.233.7.47 (talk) 05:57, 15 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
