[edit]WHY...Is Boomerang only listed at Six Flags St. Louis on the table, shouldn't it say Six Flags Over Texas and have the status be Relocated to Six Flags St. Louis? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.130.156.215 (talk) 21:08, 4 January 2017 (UTC)
Statistics
[edit]The statistics on this coaster change a little from the official Six Flags Over Texas website and RCDB. Six Flags has been known to put false and/or exaggerate information regarding their rides, for this reason, the information from RCDB should be used. (Coasterman1234 20:35, 23 March 2007 (UTC))
Six Flags St Louis
[edit]I think this page should be renamed "Boomerang (Six Flags St. Louis)", does anyone agree?Xtreme2000 (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 16:14, 30 August 2012 (UTC)
Operating vs. SBNO
[edit]@GoneIn60:@McDoobAU93: So, we established that Lightning Rod is just undergoing maintenance, so it shouldn't be set to SBNO. What about this ride? Personally, I think it should remain as SBNO since it has been closed for almost two months already (long-term for seasonal parks), this isn't just maintenance; an accident occurred requiring an investigation, mechanical alterations, and some testing (which we wouldn't include obviously), and there's no info as to when it would reopen. What do you guys think?Wackyike (talk) 14:13, 24 June 2016 (UTC)
- RCDB lists the ride as "Operating". I think that's enough. --McDoobAU93 14:22, 24 June 2016 (UTC)
- Duane at RCDB responded to an email of mine a while back stating that he is no longer pursuing status changes for rides that may only be closed for a month or two. Only when it is revealed to be closed for the remainder of a season (or more) does he plan to use the SBNO status. Personally, I don't think RCDB is the only source we should look at (and I never have). There should be a certain threshold set, that when crossed we change it from Operating to SBNO regardless of what RCDB decides to do. Is that threshold a month, two months, etc.? I'm not sure, but perhaps we should revisit the discussion at the WikiProject regarding the status field in the infobox. Maybe abolishing it altogether will limit the amount of policing we've been doing; open and close dates might be good enough. --GoneIn60 (talk) 14:53, 24 June 2016 (UTC)
- My biggest concern with this parameter is that it puts us dangerously close to WP:TRAVELGUIDE, and that is not our job. I do agree it needs to be discussed in the Wikiproject because of that very thing. The ride should either be existing (or some other synonym; replaces anything from what we call under construction through to SBNO) or defunct (ride is closed and never to reopen). --McDoobAU93 15:15, 24 June 2016 (UTC)
