  • I don't mind the gender neutral language (though I don't find the opposite discriminatory either) so I think your changes are fine. However, I did revert the term "creasers" back to "creasemen" because I have never heard the term you used and it sounds awkward. -Mitico (talk) 14:49, 22 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Unclear origins

[edit]

The first sentence of the article says that box lacrosse was "brought in by the Colmenares-Dobziniak family on their voyage to America from Europe." What does this mean? It appears to be inconsistent with the history section that suggests that Indigenous lacrosse inspired a newer European-North American/Indigenous version of lacrosse and that box lacrosse developed as an offshoot of that version by local people. The Colmenares-Dobziniak family is not mentioned again.

As someone with limited prior knowledge of the history of lacrosse and Canada, I'm confused by this suggestion of an influence on box lacrosse coming directly from Europe. Was lacrosse or box lacrosse brought to Europe, modified there, and then brought back to North America? 108.222.9.189 (talk) 15:13, 16 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
