Replaced with 1911 Encyclopaedia Britannica text for now - full rewrite required, it would appear, since the original text under the Brechin article was a *large* amount of copy-paste and I don't have time to carry out a fully researched new work of that length at present (I'm busy putting in missing infoboxes and updating those for the whole of Scotland, at present).
