[edit]Not a candidate for speedy deletion. Other Indiana University Jacobs School of Music professors have Wikipedia entries. Why not this one? He has also been principal bass of two major American orchestras, the Kansas City Philharmonic and the Los Angeles Philharmonic, and is an internationally respected bass pedagogue who has taught at the prestigious Aspen Music Festival since 1987.

- Just because other stuff exists doesn't mean this should exist, you need to explain how he meets the notability requirments in WP:Bio. Jons63 (talk) 05:12, 23 July 2008 (UTC)
This is kinda weird and unexpected. I was only following the suggestion in the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music article, which lists a number of faculty members who don't have Wiki entries, with the suggestion--which seems to come from Wikipedia itself--that someone create these entries. So I followed that suggestion with relation to this subject. And this is the result. Why would that be? Why ask people to provide this work if it isn't wanted after all?
In any case, this is a teacher of students who play in major symphony orchestras around the world. He is cited on their webpages and blog entries and bio notes in programs and so on and so forth. Don't see the problem. Opus2 (talk) 05:36, 23 July 2008 (UTC)
- I don't know who asked for it, but the basic criteria for a person to have an article on wikipedia it to have non trivial coverage in reliable secondary sources. Blogs and student websites are not generally considered reliable secondary sources. Jons63 (talk) 05:47, 23 July 2008 (UTC)
