Bud Moore's correct birthdate
[edit]Here's an official document from the SC State House that confirms Moore's birthdate, if you do the math: http://www.scstatehouse.net/sess114_2001-2002/bills/4156.htm 63.21.124.24 09:13, 15 January 2007 (UTC)Deej

WWII machine gun model
[edit]http://woodbrothersracing.com/2015/world-war-ii-hero-nascar-legend-bud-moore-set-celebrate-90th-birthday-memorial-day/ states that Moore was an operator of a water-cooled machine gun. This, in combination with sources already in the article, likely identify it as M1917 Browning. - Bri (talk) 04:01, 4 July 2017 (UTC)
Involvement in WWII
[edit]There are many inconsistencies between the timings of events described in this section and the documented chronology of WWII. To give one egregious example: it is hardly possible that Moore was fighting in the Cotentin Peninsular while French troops were liberating Paris, as the Cotentin campaign was completed by 1 July 1944 and the liberation of Paris did not occur until 19-25 August. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 203.59.112.95 (talk) 06:04, 4 July 2017 (UTC)
- The book itself reads, "They wouldn't let us go into Paris. They let the French Division under General Leclerc take Paris. Our division cut the Cherbourg Peninsula off. Then we turned back and joined Patton." It doesn't specifically say that Paris was liberated after Moore and company went to the peninsula, but I suppose the article's wording made it seem like so. Military personnel in motorsports
[edit]Should there be a category, or a page, listing individuals who have participated in racing who also served in the military? Bud may be the best known veteran in racing, but Eddie Rickenbacker and several others from his generation served and got into racing, and more recent examples include Steve Chassey, Liam Dwyer, and Lyndon Amick, the latter of whom who enlisted after racing.
