There are discrepancies in this Butterfield Overland Mail's history section vs. Wells Fargo's history section relating to Overland Mail. Subject expert needs to make corrections, either on this page, or Wells Fargo's, or both.Rosiestephenson 23:00, 16 July 2007 (UTC)Rosie Stephenson[reply]

Is map in West Texas correct? ?

[edit]

The Pine Springs/Guadalupe Peak stage stop is up just barely south of the NM/Tx line about a third from Pecos River west of Pecos River on map toward El Paso. The Guadalupe Peak can be seen from Carlsbad Caverns parking lot. The map showing the red line seems to follow IS-20 through West Texas and is about 50 miles south of Guadalupe Peak. To pass through Pine Springs/Guadalupe would suggest the route more probably would go westward from Midland paralleling the NM/Tx line to Guadalupe, and then through Salt Flats into El Paso. As I stated, the red route on the map looks to be more on IS-20. I see this same map route in other places, but the red-marked route and documented historic stops at Guadalupe just do not add up as being the same. --- Wm Y Adams -- — Preceding unsigned comment added by 64.207.71.31 (talk) 04:46, 8 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Incomplete Map

[edit]

I have deleted an imcomplete map that was placed in this article several months ago and which showed only the St. Louis segment, but not the Memphis segment. It was incorrectly labeled that this map was "the" route. --Zeamays (talk) 22:37, 16 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Correction to the poster's description

[edit]

The first illustration in the article was incorrectly described. I fixed it. For explanation, see the page on Wikimedia Commons and links there. Oaklandguy (talk) 23:58, 29 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Modern remnants

[edit]

I have not personally verified this, but there appears to be a short section of trail east of Springdale, Arkansas. — Preceding unsigned comment added by US 71 (talkcontribs) 16:45, 8 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
