Ottoman-German Alliance

It is debatable whether it was Ottoman Empire or Germany that attacked Russia. The battleships were nominally Ottoman vessels, but their crews were German, and the motives of the attack are at best hazy.--Eleman (talk) 08:27, 10 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Based on the above, I've removed the following text for now:
I think it would be worth reinclusion if Eleman's point can be referenced, since it illustrates an example when casus foederis isn't so clear-cut. — Sasuke Sarutobi (talk) 11:30, 31 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
