Copyright problem removed
[edit]Prior content in this article duplicated one or more previously published sources. The material was copied from: https://centenaryaction.org.uk/about/our-story/. Copied or closely paraphrased material has been rewritten or removed and must not be restored, unless it is duly released under a compatible license. (For more information, please see "using copyrighted works from others" if you are not the copyright holder of this material, or "donating copyrighted materials" if you are.)
For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or published material; such additions will be deleted. Contributors may use copyrighted publications as a source of information, and, if allowed under fair use, may copy sentences and phrases, provided they are included in quotation marks and referenced properly. The material may also be rewritten, provided it does not infringe on the copyright of the original or plagiarize from that source. Therefore, such paraphrased portions must provide their source. Please see our guideline on non-free text for how to properly implement limited quotations of copyrighted text. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously, and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. While we appreciate contributions, we must require all contributors to understand and comply with these policies. Thank you. I dream of horses (Hoofprints) (Neigh at me) 18:40, 22 October 2024 (UTC)
- This isn't copyrighted material and was supplied by the owner of the material anyway. Kps2015 (talk) 21:24, 22 October 2024 (UTC)
- @Kps2015:
- How did you verify that it was the owner that supplied the material?
- The material not only appeared to be violating, but also wasn't compliant with neutrality guidelines.

- Thanks for your response.
- How can I demonstrate that the owner supplied the material?
- Starting with the first sentence that you deleted, how does the following statement violate neutrality guidelines?:
- "Centenary Action is a membership organisation which campaigns for a gender equal parliament by 2028 and broader women's suffrage in the United Kingdom."
- Do you really believe that this statement contains copyright material? Kps2015 (talk) 08:57, 23 October 2024 (UTC)
- I should say that the owner of the material (Centenary Action) gave me the information and asked me to create a Wikipedia page! Kps2015 (talk) 11:14, 23 October 2024 (UTC)
- @Kps2015:
- First things first, since you were asked to do this, you need to declare a conflict of interest on your user page, per our best practices. If you're being paid to do this, it goes beyond best practices; you need to declare the conflict of interest, and that fact that you're getting paid, per the terms of use of the website.
- If Centenary Action is okay with the article being printed out and sold with the copyrighted material contained within it by someone not affiliated with Centenary Action, and they're also okay with the material being changed by people not authorized by them to do so, they can arrange a donation at donatewikimedia.org. I doubt they'll be okay with this.
- While I'm not going to go through the labor of going through this line by line with you (please read up on our neutrality policies), admittedly, that specific line is fine.

Sourcing
[edit]Linking a statement to an external site does not constitute referencing it properly - especially if the external site doesn't support the statement.
The two sections on "Campaign successes" and "Media coverage" need to be rewritten so that they show statements supported by references to reliable independent published sources which support those statements. PamD 13:00, 23 October 2024 (UTC)
Declaration of interest
[edit]I was paid a small sum to create this page. Kps2015 (talk) 14:30, 29 October 2024 (UTC)
- @Kps2015 Thank you This is a good place to put the declaration. Another good place is actually your user page. I dream of horses (Hoofprints) (Neigh at me) 18:04, 29 October 2024 (UTC)
