Citation Needed
[edit]I removed the [citation needed] because I think everyone agrees the Bulls, Pistons, and Cavs all have a shot at the title. If we list a citation it would just be to some writer's opinion and that's no better than what we have. So, I don't think we need it, if you want to add it again please state why here before starting an edit war. Bryan the Magnificent 00:36, 5 September 2006 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for File:Image.econ pms3.jpg
[edit]File:Image.econ pms3.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 08:50, 5 June 2007 (UTC)

Merge proposal
[edit]I'm suggesting that the contents in the Rivalries section to be moved and merged to the National Basketball Association rivalries. It's a more suitable article to talk about the rivalries. Furthermore, none of the other division articles have this section. Perhaps a link to the relevant section at the National Basketball Association rivalries would be enough here. — MT (talk) 04:43, 31 May 2011 (UTC)

Split proposal
[edit]Even though they share the same name, the current Central Division and the Central Division that existed during the 1949–50 season have entirely separate histories, and as such the latter should be split and expanded upon. The disambiguating title I plan on using is Central Division (NBA, 1949–1950), though other name suggestions can be used. –Piranha249 (Discuss with me) 15:52, 22 February 2021 (UTC)
- I suggest making something similar like for NHL's East and West divisions, because the old Central division existed for just one season. – Sabbatino (talk) 15:41, 26 May 2021 (UTC)
- Given that it's only one season, can't the details just be consolidated into 1949–50 NBA season#Central Division. I'm not seeing where a standalone page is needed. A WP:HATNOTE seems sufficient.—Bagumba (talk) 08:38, 16 June 2021 (UTC)
