Wondering how to edit this U.S. City Entry?
The WikiProject U.S. Cities standards might help.
Is the section about imports correct? How about some references?
This article made it into the June 11, 2004 Virginian-Pilot newspaper (story not online, sadly):
- The online encyclopedia "Wikipedia" created a version of Chesapeake's history that was literally a bunch of bull.
- According to the encyclopedia's description of the city, Chesapeake was a major importer of cows' droppings, a resource the city had hoped would jump-start the economy while cornering the fertilizer market.
- "Most unfortunately, this excessive import gradually led to an inevitable downfall," according to the encyclopedia. "The little town of Chesapeake collapsed in one tremendous heap in 1981."
- The encyclopedia appears to be a victim of online pranksters who painted a not so flattering picture of Chesapeake. Wikipedia, which was started in January 2001, immediately removed the entry after being informed of the prank by The Virginian-Pilot.
- "Although this seems like it would be a common occurrence, it actually isn't on Wikipedia," said Terry Foote of Wikipedia. "As a matter of fact, it's surprisingly rare. Basically mistakes, pranks, vandalism and whatnot are caught and corrected very quickly, thus making such behavior not particularly fun or rewarding for those who practice it."

- Ouch, not particularly subtle vandalism that lasted 31 days before being removed! I guess that is a potential problem with Rambot articles that aren't widely watchlisted. Thank goodness we now have that piece of academic research that said average repair time is two minutes. Pcb21| Pete 12:47, 24 Jun 2004 (UTC)

I have now moved the material I imported to Chesapeake City Public Schools. BlueValour 22:28, 17 August 2006 (UTC)
Drugs and Chesapeake General Hospital?
Does anyone have any cites for the paragraph about H and pot at Chesapeake General and school lunches? If not, I'm going to assume it's vandalism and delete it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.48.148.155 (talk) 04:20, 1 October 2007 (UTC)
Infamus Historic Weather Incidents
Can I put a List of Weather Incidents that has happened in chesapeake between 1950 to 2008? There arent many but theres enough. Im talking things like Tornados, Hurricanes, Massive Wildfires, Earthquakes, ect... Is that Ok to do? Last I Calculated the City avaragess about 3 tornado reports per year(at most) and Hampton Roads gets a tornado outbrake every 6-8 years according to according to Historic Climitological and Metorgical Data acessed from the NWS, NCDC, and Local News Records. Meaning, its likly that an Outbreak is set to occur in 2009. --Lolitologist (talk) 15:02, 12 February 2009 (UTC)

Structure
Hi. I'm going through all the US Cities (as per List of United States cities by population) in an effort to provide some uniformity in structure. Anyone have an issue with me restructuring this article as per Wikipedia:WikiProject Cities/US Guideline. I won't be changing any content, merely the order. Occasionally, I will also move a picture just to clean up spacing issues. I've already gone through the top 20 or so on the above list, if you'd like to see how they turned out. Thoughts?
