Section removed

[edit]

I removed a section dealing with football chants, as it was entirely unreferenced, somewhat POV ("less sickening ways") and given that some of it is offensive to certain groups (eg by accusing them of bad-taste lyrics) I feel that it must be properly referenced before going back in. 86.132.141.14 (talk) 19:58, 26 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

A bit late, but anyway: the baby bird is looking for it's mama, but she has gone "far far away", and the "last night" the baby bird heared her sing the title song for the last time. Gulliveig (talk) 09:45, 6 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Along with other popular songs, the meaning is not so important as the sound and rhythm of the words as they are sung to the musical accompaniment (if any). I believe you will come to find that it's a common thing to try to analyse the meaning of song lyrics that are, essentially, meaningless without their accompaniment. For example, Tutti Frutti, I am The Walrus, etc.74.226.123.24 (talk) 02:58, 8 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Certainly one of the most mysterious songs of the 1970s and, in its own way, one of the most disturbing. Tsinfandel (talk) 22:53, 9 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
