Should this article really be at this title?
[edit]Unless "Crip" is part of his legal name, shouldn't it be at Christopher McWilliams? (a redirect to here]] Bnynms 13:57, 27 April 2007 (UTC)
- To be honest I am not sure what name to call the article - he is probably best know as "Crip McWilliams" but is called anything from Chris, Christopher and Crip - I have already created every kind of variation that you could think of as a redirect so that should all already be there. Probably "Crip McWilliams" would be best but i am open to suggestions.--Vintagekits 14:01, 27 April 2007 (UTC)
- You know much more about the subject of the article than me, so I'll trust your opinion. I just don't think I've seen another article with the person's nickname as part of the title. Bnynms 17:55, 29 April 2007 (UTC)
- I'll ask someone else but I guess I will move it to remove Christopher from the title.--Vintagekits 17:59, 29 April 2007 (UTC)
- I'm not aware of any naming conventions that say it can't be used, and it is a name that has been used by mainstream sources such as The Guardian, Irish Independent, The Independent, The Sunday Mirror and The Belfast Telegraph. If there's a legitimate reason to move it then I'm in favour, but I don't see the point in moving it for the sake of it. One Night In Hackney303 18:09, 29 April 2007 (UTC)
- WP:MOS-PN#Personal_names states that nicknames can be used if it's the most well known name. I think I've been in the mindset of someone searching for this person, and that if they didn't want a redirect they'd have to type 'Crip' in. There's several articles with the nickname mentioned in the first line, just not the title. An example from your own field of editing: Thomas Murphy (Irish republican). (I've been reading about the subject on here these last few days). I suppose it's more of a stylistics thing than anything else. I'm not asking for it to be moved right away, and I won't force the issue, just having a discussion. Bnynms 22:52, 29 April 2007 (UTC)
- That article actually was at Thomas 'Slab' Murphy before it was moved without discussion by an editor who has been the subject of an RfC for his editing on Irish Republicanism related articles. I'll bring both articles up at a naming conventions talk page and see what the best idea is, as the guideline seems slightly vague. One Night In Hackney303 23:19, 29 April 2007 (UTC)

Joining the INLA
[edit]The article does not state when he joined the INLA. It just has him as part of the INLA when he shoots Billy Wright. The article needs to say when he became a member.--Jeanne Boleyn (talk) 16:02, 18 May 2011 (UTC)
