[edit]Kazakh spelling of river is Shu. Chu is the russian, Chuy or Chui the kyrgyz spelling. It should be Shu river. Alibek2030 (talk) 15:56, 20 January 2014 (UTC)
- It's important not simply to change any internal links from Chu River to Shu River without attention to consequences, because now the link Shu River guides to a text about a river called "Shu" in China, which is not at all related to this river. So if there would be a decision to change the name of this article, all the links would have to be changed to "Shu River (China)" and "Shu River (Kyrgyzystan and Kazakhstan)" or less clumsy "Shu River (Central Asia)" ... but mayby the title "Chu River", though it reminds of Russian, nevertheless is shorter and more practical. Certainly it's a fact that only the first 115 kilometres are in Kyrgyzystan, then for 221 kilometres the river is the border between Kyrgyzystan and Kazakhstan, and the last 731 kilometres are in Kazakhstan (and no single kilometre is in Russia).
