The article in its current form is a minor bit of pop culture trivia which belongs, if anywhere, in a broader Grey's Anatomy article, such as an episode summary or perhaps an article on GA terminology. 66.167.141.29 04:06, 6 February 2006 (UTC).[reply]

I agree that this article has turned in to a bit a fancruft. Code Black is an actual emergency code for bomb threats in some locations, see references on the article page, much beyond the scope of Grey's Anatomy. I refactored and linked portions of the page, and removed the imortance cleanup tag. This looks like a good stub article now to me. xaosflux Talk/CVU 05:20, 6 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, it looks okay now. 66.167.141.29 07:34, 6 February 2006 (UTC).[reply]

I am still disappointed with this article. I am a medical student and I had never heard of a "Code Black" until I saw the commercials for ABC's Grey's Anatomy. Upon asking various medical contacts at many corporations, it sounds like "Code Black" is an unknown term in the places I polled (by no means scientific or inclusive). Therefore I have to conclude that this article is still based more on fan fiction than anything else. Because of this, I added that "standardization" section so that people who come asking for what a "Code Black" realize that a majority of hospitals use "Code Yellow" to denote a bomb threat. I vote to abolish the intro to the article to denote it for what it is: fan fiction. I then would like to point people to the correct code definitions. Any comments? 24.7.141.159 14:27, 6 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I hate to reply to my own comment but after looking at the into again, the first three sentences have no supporting evidence listed in the links and should be removed. Then I would suggest moving the pop culture definition to the main article intro because this is exactly what it is. 24.7.141.159 14:31, 6 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I concur. Other than the PDF linked to in the first revision of this article -- and that is for a regional hospital -- there is no substantiated evidence for this phrase being other than a fiction created by a television show. At this point the article smacks of (self?-)promotion and original invention. Possible outcomes: mark as fanfic, merge/redirect to Grey's Anatomy... -- Metahacker 01:28, 7 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
