"computer system that solves crimes"

I find the expression "computer system that solves crimes" a bit childish. I can't imagine anyone calling a magnifying glass a "visual aid that solves crimes"... It's a tool, nothing more. CODIS does contain identifying info

CODIS was used to rapidly identify attempted Trump shooter Crooks despite no previous criminal record. This proves the database contains private, non-criminal, citizen DNA, and personally identifiable information.
