See Switched-mode power supply, which is a good article on this subject. It's probably better to improve that, rather than trying to turn this into an article on that subject. Thanks. --John Nagle 22:08, 2 April 2006 (UTC)
- Actually, I plan to add one or two pictures to explain why a commutation cell can only connect two sources of different type together. I agree that at the moment, these pictures do not seem at the right place, but this should be better in a day or two. CyrilB 07:41, 3 April 2006 (UTC)
- I wish this anecdote would be included into the article. It emphasizes how important is the topic in the light of total ignorance of the population, including professional Switcing Power engeneers and researchers. --Javalenok (talk) 13:20, 29 November 2015 (UTC)
- Also, there are short-sighted people who refute the principle saying that it depends on the point of view. If we measure the capacitor voltages with respect to each other, they say, rather than to some common ground, then, once you short cut them, 0 drop between capacitor voltages will mean 0 rather than halved total energy. Therefore, all your principle is total crap. Can you support your intuitive understanding of the principle with some authoritive statements for such zealots? I cannot use any other token for such individuals who say that your statement is not universal just because if we mirror the page, we'll see that letter d becomes b and whatever you say is wrong. If they learn anything is only by rote to what authority says. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Javalenok (talk • contribs) 13:25, 2 December 2015 (UTC)
