This page should not be speedily deleted because there are adequate trusted sources covering this topic. Comstock's magazine has been published monthly for 30 years and is covered by major news outlets like the Sacramento Bee and Sacramento Business Journal. I believe User:TheMediaHistorian's concern is over my work for the magazine as a paid freelance writer. Fair enough. Maybe a connected contributor tag should be added to the talk page disclosing that. That said, my work doesn't have any weight on the notability of Comstock's. <redacted> Regardless, Wikipedia:Articles for creation approved this article so it shouldn't be deleted. --Eric Schucht (talk) 13:19, 3 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Eric,
Please read Wikipedia's Conflict of Interest policy, notably this line:
"Wikipedia's policy against harassment, and in particular the prohibition against disclosing personal information, takes precedence over this guideline."
Also...
"When investigating COI editing, do not reveal the identity of editors against their wishes. Wikipedia's policy against harassment, and in particular the prohibition against disclosing personal information, takes precedence over this guideline."
You are disclosing potential personal identifying information about a fellow Wikipedia editor, without their permission. Regardless of whether you're correct or not, this violates Wikipedia's policy against harassment, and your account could be banned from Wikipedia accordingly.
Accordingly, as you've already been warned on your Talk page, it is against Wikipedia's policy to remove tags related to notability and speedy deletion requests (it is also against Wikipeida's policy to edit or create pages with an obvious conflict of interest, without disclosure — which you've now admitted to doing, for months). Your changes have been reverted. If you continue to vandalise or otherwise be disruptive on Wikipedia, you will be reported. TheMediaHistorian (talk) 20:25, 3 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The awards section was apparently based solely on User:Eric Schucht's personal knowledge (and he has since affirmed himself a paid freelancer of the publication in question, which rises to the level of a Conflict of Interest, something he has admitted to), as the magazine also won awards in 2020 and 2021, but those awards were not listed. Agreed, the awards section should be removed, because even in the absence of that information, none of the awards are particularly notable. TheMediaHistorian (talk) 07:43, 5 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
