Pupils

[edit]

Émile Louis Fortuné Pessard was a pupil and professor at the Conservatory. I was going to add, but the order list seems confusing. meatclerk 06:45, 31 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Improving the article

[edit]

In accordance with WP conventions, i have removed the two long lists of former students and teachers to separate articles, giving direct links from the page.

The article needs at least two major sections, one on its history, another on its curriculum and current activities. I have made a start on the former and will be exapnding it from time to time when I have the opportunity. --Smerus 12:56, 1 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

There is a factual error. Le Conservatoire national supérieur de musique et de danse de Paris (CNSMDP), was not known as such until 2009 [1]. In 1946, it was known as: Le Conservatoire national supérieur de musique (CNSM)[2]. Therefore, the introduction needs to clarify this, plus section 1.12 towards the end of the article needs to clarify this as well.

Relationship between the Académie Royale de Musique and the Conservatoire

[edit]

I find this source confusing. The Académie Royale de Musique was and remains the Paris Opera. I'm not sure why the source seems to say the École Royale de Musique of 1784 was annexed to it. As far I've seen the École Royale de Musique remained a separate institution until it was merged with the Institut National de Musique and became the Conservatoire. I don't know of any other source that makes this strange statement. Robert.Allen (talk) 10:47, 28 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

It's amazing how many mistakes we find nowadays (1839), even among well-known authors. Please, forgive me, Krenakarore TK 13:44, 28 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
