Types of business consolidations

[edit]

Article states "There are three forms of business combinations" then goes on to list four. "Amalgamation" as it appears, has several capitalization errors and doesn't fit well with the previous three definitions as it is written and looks tossed in haphazardly, which is bizarre in an article entitled amalgamation. The first line In business, consolidation or amalgamation is the merger and acquisition of many smaller companies into much larger ones. is wrong. Holding companies are also commonly formed by consolidation of existing companies. 2601:647:4002:3A64:6408:B566:1EBA:B097 (talk) 06:44, 29 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

The bulk of this article, everything but the first paragraph and the "see also" section, was created in a single edit by 128.227.148.25, who has not edited this article or any other article before or after. Oddly, the editor has a fair knowledge of Wikipedia formatting, with the exception of links and lowercase titles. Unfortunately, the policy on what to do when the source cannot be found is unclear, so the tag above could remain indefinitely on articles. I suggest that some other editors take a look and if they agree that it is most likely a copyright violation, that the article be reverted to the version before it was added. -- Kjkolb 03:42, 17 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

This article is garbage - it appears that it's purely about american GAAP. Tihs is probably further evidence that its a copy and paste job. --lincs_geezer 23:48, 2 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

P.S. I don't know US GAAP, but to create a page on condolidation under IFRS would take dozens of pages at least. --lincs_geezer 23:49, 2 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

This was very useful to us.

Railway related article should not be linked to this article because the former has no connection with the the concept of consolidation.Tamilmani 05:33, 4 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
