Noise generation

[edit]

Reported by the BBC today (Feb 27 2024) that this fish is able to generate very loud noises - possibly the loudest in the sea for its size. At one body length the sound was measured at 140 dB. The BBC says that a study has been published in the journal, Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (but I cannot trace this at the moment).
