Venture Bros
[edit]What? No reference to the Venture Bros parody? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 63.19.228.108 (talk) 20:58, 26 April 2009 (UTC)
The reference to Mark Evanier noticing the hand error is from [[1]]. I am making this edit under WP:IAR because it doesn't satisfy standard Wikipedia sourcing requirements. I think it is very likely that this information is actually from Mark Evanier given that this is a noncontroversial subject and a fake is unlikely. A reliable source really wouldn't be able to fact-check a personal recollection anyway. Ken Arromdee (talk) 20:08, 26 December 2009 (UTC)
- Actually, now that I think of it it *might* be possible to justify it as fitting Wikipedia policy. The original article was reedited to include the Mark Evanier reference. If you believe that Comic Book Resources is a reliable source, then that now makes the information acceptable, even though I can pretty much guess that it didn't try to verify that the poster was actually Mark Evanier and that therefore the requirement that it be posted in the reliable source only satisfies a policy requirement but provides no actual benefit. "After Eating a Cheeseburger..."
[edit]IMHO the Brightest Day section needs editing down to about two lines. It looks like live-blogging! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.161.255.97 (talk) 18:20, 2 September 2010 (UTC)
Writing credit for Strange Adventures #206
[edit]I'm removing the claim that Arnold Drake wrote this issue. The referenced Grand Comics Database entry gives no explanation for why they believe the original credit is right and every other printing of the story is wrong, and an article in Back Issue Magazine (which I shall add to this article) supports the credit which appears in the reprints.--NukeofEarl (talk) 16:57, 7 August 2014 (UTC)

Requested move 7 April 2018
[edit]- The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the move request was: consensus not to move the page as proposed at this time, per the discussion below; there may be support for moving the page to Deadman (character), but that was not established sufficiently by the current discussion. It can be revisited as necessary. Dekimasuよ! 22:53, 14 April 2018 (UTC)
Deadman (DC Comics) → Deadman (DC Comics character) – per WP:COMMONNAME and the word "character" in the title would describe the topic precisely. See Talk:Nick Fury (Ultimate Marvel character)#Requested move 18 January 2018 NeoBatfreak (talk) 07:30, 7 April 2018 (UTC)
- Oppose. Per Wikipedia:Article_titles#Disambiguation, "when a more detailed title is necessary to distinguish an article topic from another, use only as much additional detail as necessary". It would also go against the common way we disambig these types of characters, for example Captain Marvel (DC Comics). Rreagan007 (talk) 15:53, 7 April 2018 (UTC)
- Oppose as proposed, either leave as is or move to Deadman (character) if the current disambiguation poses an issue.ZXCVBNM (TALK) 20:13, 7 April 2018 (UTC)
- Oppose as proposed but support for Deadman (character). The "(DC Comics)" disambiguation phrase is only intended to be used when there are multiple comics publishers with the same character name. Per WP:NCCDAB, "(character)" is the appropriate phrase for disambiguation here. –IagoQnsi (talk) 01:02, 10 April 2018 (UTC)
- Oppose. The title is sufficiently disambiguated from Deadman (Vertigo), the only other comics-related title, and is broad enough to encapsulate the article since it covers both the character and its self-titled comic books. For comparison, we have Hulk (comics), not "Hulk (comics character)", and all but one disambiguated character in Category:DC Comics superheroes uses simply (comics) or (DC Comics) (the one exception being Spectre (character), but that was renamed without discussion and goes against established naming conventions). --Animalparty! (talk) 04:45, 10 April 2018 (UTC)
- Oppose - The (Vertigo) article should be merged with this one. I can find only one source for it, and it directly relates it to this character. This article is mostly about the character, so it should be located at (character). Argento Surfer (talk) 20:35, 10 April 2018 (UTC)
- The above discussion is preserved as an archive of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on this talk page or in a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.
