Don't speedy -- significant basketballer in Illinois. certainly editing is reqd, but not deletion. Jackk 07:47, 1 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Definitely notable. Check out the stats for some of his honors and accomplishments. He's a big part of the best Illini team since the Flying Illini. HorsePunchKid 2005-12-01 08:26:42Z

Cleanup tag

[edit]

Some sections can use additional detail, but this page has come a long way since it required cleanup. It is time to take down the tag. (Terryn3 04:01, 30 March 2006 (UTC))[reply]

Move

[edit]

Move to Dee Brown (NBA) or something similar now? -- Superdosh 00:37, 15 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • At this point a change is not needed. He should at least establish himself as a starter before having his page moved. As a second-round choice it is likely that he won't eclipse his college career with his play in the pros. Terryn3 02:17, 15 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I see your point. -- Superdosh 03:48, 15 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • He was moved to Dee Brown (current NBA player) a few weeks after the preceding exchange. That suffix is utterly unacceptable, bcz it will inevitably eventually become a false description, after being copied to thousands of other sites of which many will fail to regard our updating it as reason for them to do so. Users pursuing those lks will be led to a dab page (hopefully up to date on this site at least) listing "formerly current" players, perhaps along with still current ones they are not looking for. I've lanced the boil, better late than never.
The context of "Illinois" (i didn't go back to "Illini" bcz it is cryptic for too many users) will always continue to be true of him: that school (as opposed to Jacksonville) will still dab him, as well as can be hoped unless we resort to multi-word dab'g suffixes that would distract from the subjects' names and make the titles awkward to hold in one's head.
Change in Dab'd titles will always occur, and cause such confusions, but there's no excuse for diving headlong toward such changes.
