Wrong title?
[edit]The correct translation of "Der singende Tor" is "The Singing Fool". "The Singing Gate" would be "Das singende Tor". https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/Tor#Etymology_2 — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2003:DD:C741:4942:9150:4F40:561E:DF04 (talk) 11:54, 29 July 2018 (UTC)
- After an IP-user changed the title in the article from "The Singing Gate" to "The Singing Fool" today (which indeed would be the correct literal translation), I had a look what sources could be found for the English title (in either version). It seems that beyond IMDb there is no sourcing for an official English title. Even IMDb writes "informal English title". So unless someone can show a proper source (the cited book "Parish, Robert. Film Actors Guide. Scarecrow Press, 1977" is not available online, so I couldn't check the title used there), this article should be moved to the original title (which is a relink right now) and should not perpetuate what looks likely to be a false translation with very dubious sourcing. Moving it to "The Singing Fool" is not warranted, because there is no sourcing for that title use either, and a different film by that title already exists: The Singing Fool (1928). --Sprachraum (talk) 23:52, 12 April 2021 (UTC)

- And the page has been moved. That was fast – especially considering the IP post above is from 2018... --Sprachraum (talk) 12:46, 13 April 2021 (UTC)
