Names and sizes

[edit]

Hi!

The names and sizes are mixed-up. D. cf. flossada is the smaller, and D. cf. intermedia is the larger. The author names are not correct either, as those names are used before by Risso, 1826 and Parnell, 1837, respectively. Anyways, the names are to be validated by the International Commission on Zoological Nomenclature and are thus not valid yet.

Merry Christmas!

Flapper Skate in Ireland

[edit]

The article states:

The primary—possibly only—species in Ireland is D. cf. flossada

Yet the Ulster Wildlife Trust has a Flapper Skate project where they refer to D. intermedia: https://www.seadeepni.org/blog/callum-neill/summary-flapper-skate-working-group-1st-paper and https://www.biodiversityireland.ie/ has maps for both D. batis and D. intermedia (sorry don't know how to like the search results). I can't find any update on the request to formalise this split. Chuunen Baka (talkcontribs) 11:56, 24 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
