Driver's education

Successful completion of a driver education course is often required by many state agencies before young drivers receive their driver license or learner's permit. Courses defining the rules of the road and safe driving techniques are sometimes offered at local high schools or through independant agencies. Drivers ed courses are now also offered through online education websites. Such websites (example: DriversEd.com[23]) offer an alternative to classroom courses as some schools do not offer driver education due to increased budget cutbacks. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 209.101.186.2 (talk) 22:20, 5 January 2006

Rename

I just moved this article from Driver's Ed to Driver's Education per a request at WP:RM. Then, I noticed that the move template on this talk page was suggesting Driver's education, with a lower-case 'e'. I feel like it's a proper noun, being the title of a specific course in schools, but if I'm wrong about that, I can help move it to the lower-case title. -GTBacchus^(talk) 05:31, 22 December 2006 (UTC)

On Track Section

I'm not sure that all the information in the section is relevant to an article on Driver's Ed. At the same time, there is not really enough information to warrant a separate article on the subject in my opinion.

Also, the uberpedia link cited at the end of the section indicates that the article originally was taken verbatim from another website. The site does not provide any sources relevant to this section so any implication that the link verifies the information in the article is false. Should this link be left in? Maybe it'd be best if the section was condensed and rewritten. Orange43 (talk) 18:48, 11 February 2009 (UTC)

Article name

The first tag (of many), includes the words "may not represent a worldwide view of the subject". It seems to me the problem could be addressed by simply changing the title of the article to 'Driver's Education (US). You have to read about halfway through before realising which country it concerns. At a later date, when it is more 'worldwide', the article title could lose the '(US)' suffix. Driver's education → Driver's education in the United States – Tried moving this already but an editor claims it is a controversial move. This does not appear to be the case. Also, the issue with systemic bias is quite easily fixed by doing a page move. • Oppose - fixing the bias by changing the name is a lazy solution. Drivers education is a global topic and the article should be expanded to reflect that.
