NOT IN TNA

[edit]

Team 3D is different from Dudley Boyz. WWE owns the dudley boyz trademark and could bring characters in anytime to make the new dudley boyz! Consider making two seperate articles please. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.20.126.178 (talk) 13:56, 30 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

They are the same people it doesnt matter if wwe owns the dudley gimmick it would be like make 4 different articles for Cactus Jack, Dude Love, Mankind, and Mick Foley. How are they different they are the same people and they couldnt bring in the "Dudley Boyz" without the original Dudleys so why should we have to articles for the same people and same tag team. Black60dragon (talk) 20:06, 5 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Brother Devine

[edit]

Is Johnny actually becoming part of Team 3D or is it temporary, because is has only been referred to as Brother Devine by Brothr Ray, the ring announcer still calls him Johnny Devine and the official website still lists him as Johnny Devine and Team 3D is just Ray and D-Von.Jay794 (talk) 19:05, 7 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think so.67.68.33.29 (talk) 15:58, 18 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Discussion

[edit]

I think we ought to split this article: Dudley Boyz for the Dudley Family in general and Team 3D specifically about the team of Bubba Ray and D-Von. --Kitch 15:36, 4 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

it was originally, then later it was brought into one. I think though you are right it should be split once more... but if you do remeber to fix the right links --- Paulley 19:26, 4 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

No, no, no. Team 3D is the former name of gaming place 3D.NY. This. Here. Team 3D 3D.NY Here. HERE. <<<click

Listen don't stop this

[edit]

cause it's the same people what is the difference.

Ask Vince McMahon what the difference is. Fact is, they're not the "Dudley Boyz" anymore; they're Team 3D now. WWE holds the trademarks (for better or for worse) on the Dudley Boyz characters. IIRC, Mark LoMonaco (Ray) owns the trademarks related to Team 3D. Team 3D is their new professional name, and given the acrimony related to the trademark fight in the first place, I think it's a matter of basic respect to Team 3D to have their stuff moved to a "Team 3D" page. Tuckdogg 21:59, 29 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

You do know that Team 3D is a page already in use for another article right? --- Paulley

Yeah, to a team that isn't even around anymore...CHANGE THE ARTICLE!!!! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.255.253.8 (talk) 18:52, 27 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

SIGN GUY

[edit]

im pretty sure sign guy was a manager of the dudley boys in ECW --SalTheButcher 09:15, 2 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

He was one of the managers of The Dudleys (the primary manager being Joel Gertner, who would be accompanied by Big Dick Dudley), but became Lou E. Dangerously after D-Von & Buh Buh left ECW. Prior to him becoming manager he could often be seen in the first or second row in the ECW Arena dressed like the Dudley's & holding signs supporting them (He can be seen as a fan in a lot of old ECW videos). I'm a longtime ECW fan & can answer most questions about the gimmicks, angles & matches if asked.--Hndsmepete 00:12, 9 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Changed to Team 3D (wrestling)

[edit]

This is the right place to have an article on the team currently known as Team 3D in TNA. Since it was a move, Dudley Boyz redirects here, although it could be said that the redirect should actually be to the The Dudley Family. Post comments here about both changes. Thanks. D2001dstanley 16:20, 12 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Please read Wikipedia:Naming conventions. "Dudley Boyz" is both a better known term and less ambiguous. McPhail 14:41, 17 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
However, it would be improper to refer to a team that no longer uses said name, despite a better known name. Team 3D is not ambiguous and it helps to accurately decribe the TNA Wrestling team that is comprised of Brother Ray, Brother Devon, and Brother Runt. WWE owns trademarks on the Dudley Boyz name, which is why this article is better placed under their current ring names. Let me try to explain it this way: Let's say that an article existed for Kevin Nash, when he was Diesel in WWE. Technically, no one knew him as Kevin Nash, so it would be right to have an article saying Diesel (professional wrestler). When he joined WCW, he started using his real name. Therefore, the article that existed should be moved, with a redirect to the previous article location. That is why I feel that this article is justified in being moved. Any wrestling fan interested in this stable of wrestlers would know them as Team 3D, as that is what they use now. D2001dstanley 05:30, 20 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Please read Wikipedia:Naming conventions. The two central concerns when naming an article are that the name selected is the name "that is most generally recognisable" and the name "that is unambiguous with the name of other articles". Your argument is not a Wikipedia policy, and articles such as Cat Stevens use the best known name over the most recent name with the approval of a majority of those voting on the issue. Moreover, Lamonica and Hughes continue to identify themselves as the Dudley Boyz in interviews and are pursuing legal action to reclaim their original names. McPhail 17:07, 21 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Another relevant policy is Wikipedia:Naming conventions (common names). "When choosing a name for a page ask yourself: What word would the average user of the Wikipedia put into the search engine? Wikipedia is not a place to advocate a title change in order to reflect recent scholarship. The articles themselves reflect recent scholarship but the titles should represent common usage." While wrestling fans might search for "Team 3D", their mainstream popularity occured primarily as the "Dudley Boyz". It's not like the article fails to explain the naming situation. McPhail 15:43, 22 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

User:Altenhofen has gone and changed the name with no consensus. Gavyn Sykes (talk) 00:51, 10 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Vote

[edit]

I vote to keep this page Team 3D(wrestling)--Cowboy From Hell 03:05, 9 June 2006 (UTC)DJ BatWave[reply]

Oppose per my points raised above. McPhail 12:47, 9 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Support due to a point you McPhail once pointed out to me the current name is more consisent in an encyclopedia.--Cowboy From Hell 01:43, 13 June 2006 (UTC)DJ BatWave[reply]
No, the current name should be used only if this is less ambiguous and better known. "Team 3D (wrestling)" satisfies neither of these criteria. Please stop moving pages without discussion. McPhail 22:22, 13 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Dude, can you define ambiguous it means name of many meanings it don't hold up--Cowboy From Hell 00:02, 14 June 2006 (UTC)DJ BatWave[reply]
"Dudley Boyz" is unambiguous; there is no confusion over what the team means. "Team 3D" is also the name of a company; it is therefore ambiguous, as there is more than one article titled "Team 3D". McPhail 00:44, 14 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Support. They are NOT the Dudley Boyz anymore. "Dudley Boyz" IS, in fact, ambiguous, as there was an entire clan of Dudleys in ECW that included a ton of people (not just Bubba and D-Von). If "Team 3D" is in use, then use "Team 3D (wrestling)". And before you guys start ranting about using their most "well known" moniker, most pro wrestlers are indexed under their real names, not their ring names.
Oppose. this isnt a wrestler article this is a tag team page. i personally dont want to add a "(wrestling)" to the end. In fact if you do change it you wont add (wrestling) you will put "Team 3D (professional wrestling)" as they are a pro wrestling team. --- Paulley
Oppose as per arguments raised by McPhail. While they aren't legally allowed to use the name, they're essentially doing the same gimmick under a different name. The current name is better for disambiguation purposes and besides, that's the name they're most commonly known for. --Jtalledo (talk) 17:34, 19 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
No they are not, it's only to a certain degree like for instance they dont involve a table in every match, no tye-dye, no glasses, and not the same name--Cowboy From Hell 23:52, 19 June 2006 (UTC)DJ BatWave[reply]
Err... doing their last heel run in WWE they didn't involve a table in every match, they stopped wearing tie-dye soon after their WWE debut and also stopped wearing glasses soon after as well. In other words, they stopped doing all those things while they were still called the Dudley Boyz. --Jtalledo (talk) 00:03, 20 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Support. It isn't an issue of commonality. They are legally unable to perform under the name the Dudley Boyz. WWE owns the trademark. As far as I stand, this is an issue of legality. I don't feel that Wikipedia should judge an article name based on the convention it is more popular, because that is more a matter of opinion (which could be backed up with facts) as opposed to choosing a name that the team is legally defined as (which is recorded fact, sans opinion). To me, the convention is a double standard, as Wikipedia tries to eliminate opinion from articles (unless sourced) but claims it perfectly acceptable in titling said articles. 70.111.28.119 03:52, 25 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Kayfabe relationships?

[edit]

Hi. I have not seen the TNA backstory. Are there any kayfabe relationships between Brothers Ray, Devon, and Runt? Or for BG and Kip James? Thanks. Tim Long 02:11, 21 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Women through Tables

[edit]

The Dudleys were notorious for putting women through tables, such women as Stephanie, Terri, Tori etc. I was wondering if anyone had a list and if so could it be included in a Trivia section of some sort Julie 02:57, 27 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

LOL!!!!! Mae Young!!!!V —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.68.33.29 (talk) 16:06, 18 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Stephanie never was put through the table. Gerald Brisco and Tirple H saved her. The official list is on owo..the women are in order ::
Terri Runnels
Mae Young (two different occassions)
Lita
Trish Stratus
Tori
Molly (three different occassions)
Torrie Wilson
Stacy Keibler
Jazz
Victoria —Preceding unsigned comment added by 63.215.28.110 (talk) 08:31, 1 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

ECW

[edit]

The ECW section is meager. Their ECW is much more extensive than 1 paragraph and rivals that of their WWF history. Can anyone take this project on?--Endlessdan 20:21, 31 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

To clear things up...

[edit]

JOHNNY DEVINE IS A MEMBER OF TEAM 3D!!! HE IS A MANAGER, BUT HE ALSO WRESTLES!!!!!!

But, I don`t know if Tenay and West will start calling him Brother Devine, or if the gimmick will be dropped. Better tune in and watch

Hustle Note

[edit]

The opening paragraph states that Team 3D currently hold three world tag team championships. Since when has the Hustle Super Tag Team Championship been considered a world tag team title? Perhaps it would be better to say they are the current holders of two world tag team championship and the Hustle Super Tag Team Championship, or the current holders of three tag team championships, including two world titles? 114.76.51.164 (talk) 06:39, 20 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

More to the point, should they be listed as current champions anymore now that Hustle has closed down and they haven't defended the titles in months, if not years? I'm gonna change it to not current in case people don't really read this page, feel free to change it back and discuss it. Tony2Times (talk) 15:45, 7 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I agree with you Tony. I fail to see how you can be the current champion in a promotion that no longer runs events. It doesn't make sense. They'd be the last champions, not the current. ♥NiciVampireHeart17:59, 13 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Jeremy Renoe

[edit]

Jeremy Renoe, better by his ring name "Hip-Hop Jeremy", was born on March 12, 1980 at Dudleyville, NY. He debuted on RAW last May 10, 2000, along with twin brothers Joel Renoe (known as "Hip-Hop Joe") and James Renoe (known as "Hip-Hop James), thus the tag team name of DVKs (meaning "DudleyVilleKids"). He first shortly with Marcus Howard and George Louis Cena. The reason of feuding was for the name of the tag team. Marcus and Geaorge got the name "Hip-Hop Boyz", but the triplets wanted it so they decided to have a 2-on-3 handicap match. The triplets lost, so they decided to name their team DVKs. —Preceding unsigned comment added by EJ7350 (talkcontribs) 12:02, 17 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Weight

How does Buh Buh Ray and D-Von alone weigh more then Buh Buh Ray, D-Von, and Spike? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 142.162.54.222 (talk) 18:30, 10 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Heatwave

[edit]

Why is this listed as a 3 on 2 handicap match against Spike, Tommy, and Sandman? They had a third dudley with them at this point, it was a six man tag. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 205.145.185.201 (talk) 19:44, 28 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Redundant?

[edit]

"Ray and Devon are best known individually and collectively for their success as a tag team, being highly touted as the most decorated tag team in professional wrestling history. They are officially recognized by TNA as 23 time World Tag Team Champions, making them the most decorated tag team in history. They are the only team to have held the WWE, World, ECW, WCW, NWA, TNA, and IWGP Tag Team Championships."

Isn't this a little redundant? TheGary (talk) 02:12, 30 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

OI DIPSTICKS!!!

[edit]

During the flying headbutt double team move, When The Dudleys are faces, that's wrestling slang term for goodies, they yell "Whassup" before D-Von hits the flying headbutt, it's too get the fans excited. Stop deleting it--124.186.184.92 (talk) 09:15, 15 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
