Controversy

[edit]

Can anyone clarify the nature of the controversial material mentioned in the "Controversy" section? 71.14.115.135 06:58, 25 October 2007 (UTC)alvastarr[reply]

Meaning of the name "Eightball"

[edit]

'An eightball is also "street lingo" for an eighth of an ounce of cocaine, an increasingly popular dosage.'

Does anyone have evidence of this and how is it relevant to this article? --Belteshezzar 20:01, 31 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Eight ball (disambiguation) contains that information, and Eightball redirects there. It is not relevant to this article unless there is evidence from reliable sources that the author and/or the publisher were referring to drugs rather than, say, the pool/billiards game or the magic 8-ball when naming the magazine. --Bwiki 01:50, 12 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

"Notable story arches" in Eightball?

[edit]

Lloyd Llewellyn was the late-1980s comic book series by Clowes that preceded Eightball. The (incomplete) list of Eightball issues at Fantagraphics Books' website shows that Eightball #1, #4 and possibly other issues contained Lloyd Llewellyn stories, but I am not sure if his adventures constitute a "notable story arch" within the series. As for the long title The Adventures of Lloyd Llewellyn, the only Google hits I got were HTML page titles at the Traffaz Archives and, of course, this very article and mirrored/forked versions of it. Therefore, I deleted the long title from the list of "notable story arches". Please re-insert Lloyd Llewellyn if I am wrong, but only use the long title if you have checked that it is consistently used in Eightball. --Bwiki 02:29, 12 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
