Eljawqa Blog

[edit]

A number of ips have been recently adding this blog to the external links [1], [2] and [3]. The link is for a blog for a Canadian group performing Imam's songs which is not enough for inclusion as an external link. See WP:EL. The group itself is not notable enough and doesn't meet WP:BAND. Google search for "Jawqet El-Shaeikh Imam" [4] retrieves very few results, mostly from the blogosphere. Furthermore, according to WP:EL, linking to blogs should be avoided. This type of editing is considered Spam and a vanity edit. I'm going to remove it again. Please don't re-add without further discussing.--Wedian 02:11, 18 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed, especially that the link is now broken and there's no online resources referencing anything about Jawqet El-Shaeikh Imam M7ama (talk) 20:24, 17 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

1967 Songs

[edit]

Hello everyone, I just wanted to explain why I think it's important to include information about Imam's songs related to the 1967 war in his Wikipedia page. These songs were significant not only in Imam's career but also in the history of Egyptian music, as they represented a unique departure from the mainstream musical culture at the time. By discussing the political and social themes present in Imam's work and contrasting them with the popular music of the period, we can provide a more complete understanding of Imam's impact and legacy. Moreover, his prosecution and imprisonment as a result of his political activism and outspoken lyrics make this a crucial aspect of his career that should be acknowledged. I believe these edits would enhance the page's comprehensiveness and depth, and I welcome any feedback or suggestions for improvement. M7ama (talk) 20:36, 17 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
