No notability / Making it a redirect

[edit]

Although this band does enjoy a big fan base, we see no independent success outside The X Factor. The way the page was started and the information it contains smells of a fansite. But in reality, Emblem3 has no chart success, no accredited albums or singles with an established record label. Made the article a redirect awaiting notability or new valid independent information and coverage werldwayd (talk) 05:02, 1 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Redirect or article?

[edit]

Looks like they're signed with Columbia records, and recently released a single that's getting some attention. No idea if its charting though. At least that suggests notability outside of the tv show. LionMans Account (talk) 17:55, 9 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I apologise, I didn't realise a single had been released. The song even has an article Chloe (You're the One I Want) and it has apparently charted (though not well, and only in South Korea). I'm reverting myself. –anemoneprojectors17:59, 9 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
That's fine. I do try to be careful with accepting articles, especially with musicians, but I do know plenty get through that are on the border.LionMans Account (talk) 18:01, 9 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I think this just scrapes though, though the references are quite poor and don't really demonstrate their notability. –anemoneprojectors18:01, 9 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
The only issue I see is "fanpov", and I added that template. Other light house keeping, such as the link to their single, which charted in the mid 20s on Billboard. I believe the article has established notability. I don't know enough about them to work on the fanpov issues, so I will leave that to others. Juneau Mike (talk) 17:57, 31 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Update: I removed the "early life" section, which was filled with material one might find in a cd jacket. I moved the "members" section up to replace it, and did some house-keeping on it. For the record, I am a fan. I think they are great, and I could be called an "Emblem" as the fans are known by. But this is Wikipedia, and the article needs to be neutral. New picture

[edit]

I request to update the article picture because Drew (sadly) is no longer a member of Emblem 3.
