Estonia–Russia border → Estonian–Russian border – Per ngrams, the proposed name is the WP:COMMONNAME, and it is WP:CONSISTENT with other articles related to the Estonian-Russian border such as Estonian–Russian territorial dispute. BilledMammal (talk) 01:32, 14 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

STRONGLY, strongly OPPOSE — Every other article that's specifically solely about a specific international border follows this format. Look at the 240+ pages in Category:International borders that follow this exact title format of "CountryNameX–CountryNameY border" (and not "DemonymX–DemonymY border"). Moving this page would be breaking a much-more established bit of consistency with over TWO HUNDRED other pages. Paintspot Infez (talk) 15:35, 14 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
- A recent discussion on a similar topic found no consensus for such a format. Arguing consistency with a format that there is no consensus for is a weak argument, and one that we shouldn't focus on to the exclusion of the other four aspects of WP:CRITERIA, or to the exclusion of consistency with other articles like Estonian–Russian territorial dispute. Oppose on a basis that it would actually violate WP:CONSISTENT on articles about the borders (be it Latvia–Russia border or France–Germany border). If you want to change, then please go start a discussion about changing it everywhere. Mindaur (talk) 00:07, 16 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
- @Mindaur: I believe the result of that discussion will be no different from the one on foreign relations; no consensus for either the noun format or the adjective format to be used consistently. However, if you believe that discussion should be held, we can do so.
For this move request, even if WP:CONSISTENT is against the move - which is dubious, given the lack of consensus for this specific form, and given the use of the proposed form in many other articles (such as Estonian–Russian territorial dispute, Estonian Border Guard, Anglo-Scottish border, Soviet–Japanese border conflicts, Indo-Tibetan Border Police, Syrian–Turkish border clashes during the Syrian civil war, Jordanian–Syrian border incidents during the Syrian civil war, 1982 Ethiopian–Somali Border War, Sino-Russian border conflicts, July 18, 1998 Albanian–Yugoslav border clashes, April 23, 1998 Albanian–Yugoslav border ambush, Belizean–Guatemalan territorial dispute, Sino-Pakistan Border Agreement, 2012 Armenian–Azerbaijani border clashes, Djiboutian–Eritrean border conflict, Eritrean–Ethiopian border conflict, Polish–Czechoslovak border conflicts, German–Soviet Border and Commercial Agreement, 1964 Ethiopian–Somali Border War, Thai–Laotian Border War, Polish–Soviet border agreement of August 1945, 2010 Eritrean–Ethiopian border skirmish, etc) - there are four other aspects of WP:CRITERIA, with WP:NATURALNESS/WP:COMMONNAME (typically held to be more important than later criteria like WP:CONCISE and WP:CONSISTENT) being strongly in favour of the proposed title, and the other criteria being neutral on the proposal. Most border articles use the country's name, such as Czech Republic–Poland border, Poland–Ukraine border, France–Spain border, Portugal–Spain border, Morocco–Spain border, Canada–United States border, Niger–Nigeria border etc.. In September 2022, the Baltic countries (Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania) closed their borders to most Russians in response to the Russia's invasion of Ukraine, launched in February 2022. On 13 September 2023, Estonia banned vehicles with Russian license plates from entering their territory, in accordance with a decision by the European Union.
