Reactions after this article was mentioned on the Dutch "Geenstijl" weblog

[edit]

Hverhoog (talk) 15:51, 15 March 2010 (UTC) The controversy paragraph should be an accurate record, not a political campaign by the website GeenStijl.[reply]

Yeah Hverhoog, fact: Eveline Herfkens stole $ 280.000 from the Dutch people. So please leave that text in the Article as it's proven (look at the Dutch article where are references that it's a fact, not an opinion). —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.169.215.225 (talk) 16:02, 15 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

GeenStijl article

Oddly enough the information about the fraud that Herfkens was involved in during her time at the UN is constantly removed from the English Wikipedia: —Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.159.150.163 (talk) 15:22, 15 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

hey, where is the part of the fraud??? why is Wikipedia censoring? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.169.215.225 (talk) 15:46, 15 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia is not censoring. If you add the "fact" that Herfkens stole 280.000 dollars, it is a serious thing you accuse her of. And it needs proof. It's really easy: just add reliable sources for the controversy, and it will stay on Wikipedia. --EdgeNavidad (talk) 16:33, 15 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Suggested sources

[edit]

Here are a few sources related to the controversy from national newspapers. Since it was a national affair, I'm afraid all are in the Dutch language.

Right now I'm a little too busy myself to incorporate those sources into the text, but this should contain sufficient material for a nice and encyclopedic covering. Andreas Willow (talk) 17:08, 15 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Some other sources;

[edit]

I added some sources and removed the text on "280 000 dollar gate", as this term was not widely used to refer to the controversy. I could not find however the link to the letter of Minister Verhagen ( Kamerbrief inzake betalingen aan mevrouw Herfkens/ uitvoering motie Gill'ard c.s.) and copied in the google-cash, which is not readable. Anyone a better link to that source? L.tak 17:29, 15 March 2010 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by L.tak (talkcontribs)

House of Commons

[edit]

It now says she was a member of the house of commons. Although the Dutch Tweede Kamer der Staten Generaal is somewhat comparable to the British house of commons, it clearly is not the same and therefore misleading. 67.167.6.52 (talk) 05:11, 16 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
