False Pretenses (1935 film)False Pretenses – The WP:SMALLDIFFS between this film, the legal term False pretenses and the song False Pretense which redirects to the album Don't You Fake It can be handled via hatnotes. Alternatively, if this film is deemed as too obscure for a standalone title, then it can at least be moved to False Pretenses (film) since the unnecessary False Pretenses (film) disambiguation page lists only this film and two redlinked films with no bluelinks. If articles for one or both of the redlinked films are ever created, the dab page can be restored. It may be also concluded that both the film title False Pretenses and the song title False Pretense should be redirects to the legal term False pretenses. — Roman Spinner (talkcontribs) 17:40, 8 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Ironically GBooks throws up False Pretences (1974 film) British spelling for a US film. False Pretences. In ictu oculi (talk) 12:34, 9 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Entries for the 1974 film in Russian Wikipedia and Czech Wikipedia describe it as a Canadian film, while its entry in Italian Wikipedia specifies its provenance as Canada, Stati Uniti d'America. Canada-related Wikipedia entries have been inconsistently rendered with both British spelling and American spelling. However, even if someone creates an English Wikipedia entry for the 1974 film and / or the 2004 film, there is still the question of whether "False Pretenses" (and the song "False Pretense") with uppercase "P" should redirect to the legal term "False pretenses" or whether hatnotes would suffice (see Wikipedia talk:Article titles/Archive 26#Capitalization of article titles). —Roman Spinner (talkcontribs) 19:32, 9 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
It turns out that I confused the 1974 film with the 2004 film. All the links and references in the initial sentence of the above posting are for the 2004 film. As for the 1974 film, IMDb lists it as an American production, but provides no details other than the name of the director, Andrew Noren. —Roman Spinner (talkcontribs) 05:01, 10 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
