Scope

[edit]

Hi @FFM784. In regard to your recent edits, I think we should keep the scope of the article to encompass a single intermodal facility that includes a train station, bus stop, and park-and-ride lot. Also, Vergennes Station House has its own page so I don't think the NRHP infobox needs to be duplicated here. Perhaps we can add a link to the summary since it's a major point of interest. The article should certainly treat it as a single intermodal facility, though there's hardly much to say about a parking lot and a tiny bus shelter. Given the shared history, including the old station building being reused for the new station, I believe that Vergennes Station House should be merged here. (That's standard for station articles - see Palo Alto station and West Concord station for comparable articles I've gotten to GA.) I'm planning to do that this weekend unless there's a compelling case otherwise. Pi.1415926535 (talk) 03:46, 21 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
My edits were an effort on my part to explain what the situation is at this location at the moment. At one end of the park and ride lot is a train station and at the other end of the lot is a bus shelter. In Amtrak's system there is one code if your want to use the train and another code if you want to take the Vermont Translines bus. I have yet to find a citation that supports calling this location an intermodal facility per se even though it does appear to have the elements that would make its such a facility. On the 2nd point, I was not aware of the Vergennes Station House page. I fully support merging the two pages into one page. FFM784 (talk) 13:33, 21 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I added more info on the bus services. I've visited this facility, it's pretty clearly intermodal. It also looks like Amtrak has started to use code VRN for thruway bus service as well as train (couldn't find a direct link but try going to amtrak.com and searching for service between VRN and ALB on July 29, you'll see two buses and the train). I will try to figure out if buses begin stopping in front of the station house instead of the north end of the lot once train service begins. Btw I'm fine with Vergennes Station House getting merged in. QuincyMorgan (talk) 18:45, 21 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I like your latest set of edits. Thank you for taking the time to sort this out. FFM784 (talk) 22:25, 21 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
