Wait for the certifying agency to update THEIR database.

[edit]

Please see WP:CHART#Certifications. "Certifications should be sourced directly to certifying agencies, most of which provide a searchable database. When such a database is not available, other reliable sources may be used..." RIAA has a searchable database, thus should wait for them to say that they did it. Acceptable PRIOR to appearing in THEIR database, would be if THEY have a news article stating DOUBLE PLATINUM or 2x Platinum. This would be similar to Billboard stating in a news article some new chart positions BEFORE they updated THEIR charts. At least they say it themselves. BELIEVE me, I am just following the Wikipedia policies, as you've seen in my other recent edits here. I have absolutely no "ill-will" towards Fifth Harmony or yourself. This was a similar situation while awaiting RIAA to update "Worth It" from Gold to Platinum. Once they did, I myself sourced and "spread the news" throughout the 5H articles here.—Iknow23 (talk) 02:47, 15 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I do wish that RIAA would update their database immediately. It would save us from all this hassle.—Iknow23 (talk) 02:50, 15 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Update "Worth It" is certified 2x Platinum in US.

"Worth It" is certified 2x Platinum in US. Certification date = Aug 26, 2015.HERE.—Iknow23 (talk) 02:01, 27 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Promo?

[edit]

5Hcontributor has repeatedly removed "I'm In Love With a Monster" from the main singles section of the article, opting to place it in the promotional singles section, later demanding that I provide them with a source (I assume had they correctly finished their edit summary, would have asked me for a source to prove it was a fully blown single). 5Hcontributor, please provide a reliable source here that describes "I'm In Love With a Monster" to be a promotional single. The source already attached to the listing, the iTunes source, indeed proves it is a single, but says nothing about the single being promotional. Since you are the one who is so strongly campaigning to have this listing in the promotional singles section, it is your responsibility to provide extra sourcing. I think Chasewc91 (I'd appreciate your input here, Chase) summed it up best at Ariana Grande discography, in a similar situation. To remove the song from the main singles and stick it in promo singles, when no such source has confirmed the song to be as such, is original research. "Promotional single" definitely needs sourcing. Chase (talk | contributions) 00:13, 31 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned references in Fifth Harmony discography

[edit]

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Fifth Harmony discography's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

Reference named "BPI":

  • From List of music recording certifications: "The BPI". British Phonographic Industry. Retrieved 2013-11-19.
  • From British Phonographic Industry: Gallup (4 February 1989). "The Top of the Pops Chart" (PDF). Record Mirror: 4. Retrieved 16 July 2010.

I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. AnomieBOT 00:48, 2 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Camila Cabello on Shawn Mendes' "I Know What You Did Last Summer".

[edit]

Would her equally credited duet with Shawn Mendes titled "I Know What You Did Last Summer" be noteworthy enough for a spot on the groups' discography page? I mean after all, the song is her only solo work and since she's still currently a member of Fifth Harmony, she isn't eligible for her own discography page. Vandalism

[edit]

I know nothing about this artist, but it looks like someone has engaged in a persistent vandalism campaign against this article. I suspect the person(s) doing this were vandalizing the Christina Perri discography until that page was protected around May 12th. I am rather fascinated to discover that people engage in this sort of vandalism. I am also dismayed to discover that Wikipedia seems unable to stop it. Perhaps this page will receive temporary protection. However, at that point I expect the vandal with simply move on to a similar page.
